with my humble experience id like to illustrate the SQ of the Z5c on a scale as this: my old z ultra -----------------------z5 compact------fiioE18

I just bought the Z5c and compared it to my colleagues' ip6s, and brought a smile to my face knowing also my battery has about 50% more mAh been paying attention to the SQ too, and its a huge improvement over my old sony Z ultra so im happy

it still has a screen to body ratio  better than the 4.7" iphone 6/6s as reported by phonearena it is 70.64% over 65.71%

has anyone tested the LDAC vs aptx? I have the 1RBT mark2 and I cannot ascertain whether the in-built amp or the bluetooth protocol is the weaker link

I like the way you think!  To add to it, Z5 is exactly the same overall dimensions, weights 2grams more and has a 200mAh less battery capacity Might just have a bit more space for some extra guts in it!

So does the ZX100 and Z5 go well together? 

      yeah my first smartphone nokia 7650 had no problems with bluetooth over 10 years ago. i havent had problems between that symbian, or PCs or android between each other but iphone which is problematic... its again the case of iphones not wanting to play by the rules not sure if the...

zx2 is also android, do realise not all android phones have ridiculous bloatware

it sounds like its within the ZX2 territory so the price shouldnt be much cheaper if at all

umm whats with the 'cant pocket' sentiments if a 5.5" phone + case is pocketable, then surely this is too. They are not going to fill the case up with air, so its either electronics or battery, both of which id be happy to lug around... For now, this seems like better value than the new Sony...

Problem is Sony seems to be a very traditional japanese company. That style is to produce one thing its good at and keep working on refining that one thing. Sony camera department makes great cameras. Sony TV department makes great TVs. Sony Audio makes great audio. Sony PlayStation makes great...

Hoping for the Z5C to be a winner. I've been holding out since the Z3C... with the compact size its perfect for music playing and operation with one hand knowing its sony the battery should last through the whole day with music pumping most of it too .. if SQ is good then it largely eliminates...

  There probably be the ZX100 as the lower line and ZX2 (mark II) as the upper line Hope to hear some news on September 2nd when Sony will present at the IFA show! 

This is a very interesting little device... The way I would consider having it is as a DAP-only to supplement my regular phone, given the audio output is worth it's weight. The things not cheap, but still only half the price of say the Sony ZX2 and you get niceties such as simcard for online...
