    Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

Can I ask why you have two hd 600s? Also can i have your opinion on the hd 600 vs the x2? I'm trying to decide whether to buy an hd 600 to compliment the x2 or simply upgrade to a LCD 2.

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I do think a lot of people convince themselves that something more expensive must sound better (including me). Kudos to you for being able to see past that and pick the headphone you enjoy the most. Not many people have the ability think that critically.

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I'm curious. Why do you have two X1s?

    Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

First of all, the artifical sounding/ edgey treble is there but only in high volume situations and only on certain tracks. I'm not entirely sure if it's just badly mastered tracks however because when I listen to albums I know are well mastered such as RAM by Daft Punk and Africa by Toto they...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Hows the X-T1? I was tossing up between the X-T1 and the a6000 and ended up not buying either.

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

It almost seems as though everyone has different opinions on different headphones. I actually tried the 400i and it was nice to listen to. Mid forward coming from the x2, more detailed as well; I believe technically the 400i is a better headphone. However I couldn't get away from how much I...

    NEW 2015 - HIFIMAN HE400S

It is at the moment since I have to buy the 400S at $300 USD on Amazon which is ~$400 AUD and then pay for international shipping as I don't know of any australian stores that stock them yet. I can get the hd 600 for $320 AUD and pick it up, no delivery required.   My friend had only received...

    NEW 2015 - HIFIMAN HE400S

Where I'm from (and since I already have an amp dac combo) the hd 600 is actually less expensive than the 400S. Also see my reply above this one regarding sound quality.

    NEW 2015 - HIFIMAN HE400S

It is a very good sounding headphone don't get me wrong. I guess my impressions were affected by the let down of my expectations. Because its a planar I was expecting that typical planar sound. Instead what I got was something very different and at first I think that put me off. However once I...

    NEW 2015 - HIFIMAN HE400S

Yes, if you look back through this thread I posted my impressions. I'm not being deliberately obtuse, infact I was actually fully prepared to sell my x2 before even hearing the 400s. Fortunately I was talked out of it by a fellow head-fi member.

    NEW 2015 - HIFIMAN HE400S

My issue with these headphones is why you wouldn't just buy the more comfortable, better built and (imo) better sounding hd 600 at the same price point?

    NEW 2015 - HIFIMAN HE400S

It isn't terrible. I got a chance to demo a friends who had one shipped into Aus. I still like the hd 600's signature more (and the 650s for that matter) but it isnt bad at all. To be honest they were a little disappointing for me. If they released a headphone with hd 600 mids and treble with...

Any comments on this versus the hd 600 from anyone who owns both?

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I thought that +5db was the target response? I haven't been closely following it though so something may have changed.

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I see I was measuring off the low mids at around 400 Hz because the majority of the mids seem to be at or around that area. Perhaps this is why it seems quite balanced despite the bass boost? The lower mids are still very present despite the 1khz dip? I don't know, all I'm saying to my ears...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

The innerfidelity graphs on the x2 show that its around +4-5db which is directly in line with the target response. I do agree that because of the limitations of its drivers it rolls of steeply and thats unfortunate. I too am slightly confused about the treble dip (possibly because its tuned by...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Yes, I would definitely agree with you in that sense, the bass in most dubstep songs is ****. However that is besides the point, really what I was saying is that I take song that I KNOW have decent bass from listening on speakers and its just not there with the hd 600. I will check out those...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I would disagree with you in that respect. I think that the x2 is quite a well balanced headphone. The current standard for neutral is too bass light in my mind. Also I find this headphone works for almost all kinds of music, I listen to EDM quite often however I also listen to alot of Jazz...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Has there been any discussion on the burn in of these headphones? After a month the treble on these headphones seems to have lost its edginess. Perhaps thats mental burn in but I'm not complaining either way. These are just about perfect for me now.

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

You're absolutely right. I wish I was able to measure the effect on the FR but the treble seems a little more laid back when I scoot them back on my head!   I'd agree it must be something to do with the drivers.

    NEW 2015 - HIFIMAN HE400S

I'm confused as to whether I should sell the fidelio x2 and purchase this headphone. From the measurements it seems to be almost hd650 rolled off in the treble which wouldn't be good for EDM. Both are easily driven without an amp... quite the decision. I like the look of these headphones, but I...

    NEW 2015 - HIFIMAN HE400S

Slightly confused as to how this is the case? In which way does the HE400S outperform the HD650 or 600 for that matter? From what I can tell the only thing it has on them is a slightly better impulse graph.

And I've only got 20 days of Amazon's return policy to decide.

    NEW 2015 - HIFIMAN HE400S

How is the treble as compared to the X2? Is it smoother and less edgey or is it about the same? I'm looking for a headphone less edgey in the treble and with slightly less bass than the x2. At the moment I'm tossing up between the 400s and the HD600.

    New Member Introductions thread

Hey, I've been a long time reddit /r/headphones user and have visited this forum many times in the past to see different perspectives on headphones. Just today I visited and decided I might as well make an account! I have already collected a number of headphones. My current ones include: 1...
