BF recommendation HE 400i vs DT 1770
I have finally gotten around to be able to get full size headphones again and the HE400i and DT1770 deals caught my eye since my budget is about $400. I know the DT 1770 is very very new and I also have no experience with planars. I listen to a wide variety of music. Any help is appreciated. ...- GoStones

Modding the Little Dot II++
One question I have and I've tried to search without finding anything. When I see people mod their amps, I always see people change their caps and thne"bypass" their output caps with other ones. What exactly does that mean? Anyone?- GoStones

Little Dot II++
I agree that the Ediswans sound better with the LDII++ I had posted this earlier in my impressions. It might be the reason why the Ediswans were included instead of the mullards. I have HD580s and SR125s- GoStones

LD2++ made to match
ok, so I've finally found little time to use my grados with the amp. To me in general it is really GREAT with grados. The lower mid and bass really helps the grados out and the highs sound very nice. The one problem you might find with this amp is the upper mids. The one thing that I noticed...- GoStones

PCDP- Good SQ for audio CDs
Also, is there a difference between DNE330 and DNE330L? I'm also looking for a pcdp but I only see the DNE330L at target.- GoStones

LD2++ made to match
Hi Rain_UK I recently posted in the other II++ thread my impressions (didn't want to hijack yours) and I couldn't agree more with your impressions. I guess if you're hearing the same thing then my impressions are correct! Yes the upper mids does seem to have been brought foward a bit. I have...- GoStones

Little Dot II++
First of all I don't think you can just say that the Ediswan sound better. I think it fits the II++ more and the mullards the II+ more. I wouldn't go so much to say that it is "ideal" because its all about preference and also this is an "budget" tube amp. You have to keep in mind that it does...- GoStones

Modding the LD2+ or LD2++
Ok, so I read the thread before where it was said that there are 1 or 2 caps that can be changed on the LD2+. I am willing to take the dive to do this and even try it out on the LD2++ but I lack the knowledge of which caps the ones mentioned actually. I can do a pretty good soldering job...- GoStones

One thing I forgot to mention is that the II+ is a little louder than the II++ the volume was about the same for a little past 11:30 on the II+ and a little before 12:30 on the II++ (referring to hr hand if it were a clock)- GoStones

I have Senns HD580 and Grados sr-125 I think it sounds pretty good with both of them. Just a little different from the II+ and nope, no flash for me, I have had no problems with mine so far. Also, my LED is orange, not the dimmer blue others have reported.- GoStones

Little Dot II++
Hello All I've had a little time to listen and compare my II+ and II++. I used the Mullards and the Ediswans on both amps. First of all, it seems like everything is tighter, the length of each note has shortened a little and notes do not run into each other as much. The bass has improved...- GoStones

Cheapest amp you could be happy with?
Despite the problems others had with the LD2+, I am still very happy with it. The sound is terrific, and fits what I listen to very well. It really is a bargain for its price.- GoStones

Xiang Sheng 708B vs Little Dot 2+
I would have to say that apart from the issues with the arcing, the sound from the the LD2+ is excellent (read the LD2 vs LD2+ thread). Also, I purchased mine very recently and according to David, all the newer versions of the LD2+ has a voltage supressor so I am actually not too worried about...- GoStones

Tubes for the New LD2++
I have a HD580, so how would you determine whether an amp will be able to drive them or not? What power requirements would these need to have? I will look for tube amps with these specs then if you say its a good place to start learning about tube rolling. I will also search for good tube models...- GoStones

Tubes for the New LD2++
Thanks for the constructive comment 3x331m, I was just curious and wanted to know. I am a beginner in this and I've been trying to search for things about tube rolling, but I wasn't sure about changing which tubes would improve sound quality. Since I am on a budget and just wanted to start with...- GoStones

Letter to Little Dot -- LDII+ owners, PLEASE read
I think what most people are unsatisfied about is that the new tubes are just a temporary solution and knowing this was the case, Little Dot went on to creating the LD2++ without solving the intial problem. This makes the LD2+ owner feel like they've been used as guinea pigs. Its great that we...- GoStones
