I wonder if either of the Dekoni pads would be cooler than stock. I enjoy these headphones but they make my head sweat.

Every once in a while when I'm playing music there will be a pause in the middle of a song, then the music will resume after a second. Any ideas on how to correct this? I'm connecting by USB out of a Windows 10 desktop.

Oh, I get it. I'm not really familiar with the Zdac, but I don't see any reason why that wouldn't work. And yes, I would use the fixed output setting with the Jazz. I'm sure it would work either way though.

I'm not sure how that would work, it seems like you wouldn't be able to use the balanced outs unless you opted for a different amp.

I think the X00 (mahogany) pairs nicely with the Jazz-ff, the bass is more controlled than with other amps I've tried, and overall it sounds more balanced. The Jazz-ff lacks a pre-amp out for speakers though.

Try enabling "DSD bitstream in DoP format" in device settings. Oh, and set the Bitstreaming option to DSD.

I think it would work well for that, as long as your headphones are relatively easy to drive. I've been testing the Big Ego's headphone amp, and it sounds good with my more sensitive 'phones (like the TH-X00), it left a lot to be desired with my HD 650 though.     On the differences between...

As far as budget DSD DACs go, I think hifimediy has some options as well.   I've heard of a few people having problems with the M8, but there's no way of knowing if the failure rate is higher than other similar products. I haven't had any probs with mine though.

I just tried the M8's optical input for the first time, and I have to say, there seems to be a big difference compared to USB. I'm not sure why, but it seems like the highs were really lacking with USB.   edit: I'm not even sure which input I prefer at this point, but it's clear that they...

It works fine for me. If you have your music player configured properly, the M8's display will read DSD64 or DSD128 when you play the files.

I picked up a Jazz-ff a few months ago, and it pairs beautifully with the X00. Good call.

I'm using the USB input, and my M8 gets a little warm to the touch, not what I would call hot though.

How did the iPower work out for you?

Is there any way to get the M8's display to dim or turn off while music is playing?

I've not heard the m-dac, but I'd say if you're happy with the sound, stick with it. I do think the Magni 2U pairs nicely with the X00s though.

Does that fit all the way around the X00's headband so that you can do up the snaps?
