I'm thinking of a new DAP to replace my Ibasso DX90. Has anyone gone from a Cowon Plenue 1 to a X7 or had the chance to listen to both and give an honest opinion? I like the usability of the X7 and the ability to load different apps as they become available but I'm thinking the Cowon might edge...

Thanks for the response really helpful. Lol. I meant with the offer, it was going to cost £500 for the new player and wasn't sure I would see that much improvement. I like my dx90 but it's the best high end dap I've had so nothing really to compare it to.

I'm just considering this but not convinced I'll see enough of a difference over my current dx90, can anyone provide more info than I was able to find on the differences. Also has anyone compared it to the fiio x7? I'll be using some cosmic ears ce6p on it if that helps. Cheers.

I'm really happy with my CE6, to my ears they just seem to be a very good balance. I've not noticed any spikes at all, but it could just be that in my ageing years my hearing just isn't what it used to be and everything seems really good. I'm actually surprised by the amount of bass the 'P'...

They really do look good, much better in the flesh as the pictures don't do them justice. They are CE6P's and are the perfect balance for me. I thought they may be a little light in the bass but boy was I wrong these things really can hit hard. :D

That's my feeling as well. I'd much rather plug them in and listen to them as they were created rather than messing with an EQ. I was lucky as I got to hear them with my music on my player so I should be fine. Sometimes the player can make a difference as well. The Ibasso DX90 I use apparently...

MIne was at that stage for a while and then last week I received an email to let me know everyhting was progressing as it should be. I think tomorrow will be 7 weeks since I placed my order so your's should be changing over very soon as well I would think.

You are right and it is a tough decision. Phil was quite surprised when I said that the P's had enough bass for me, as from all my correspondence with him he assumed I would get the B's. I'm sure you will be happy with either version, but the B maybe the better choice as at least you won't be...

I'm still waiting for mine to be delivered so I don't actually know as yet, but I'd read somewhere that the balanced armatures aren't really affected by burn-in. With how they are produced and the way they work that seemed logical to me, is this not the case then?

Well I've had an email to say mine are at the shell detailing stage, communication has been great so far. I've also ordered my new car and I have to say I'm a lot more excited about my cosmic ears than I am about that. Is this normal or sad. :D

I thought I would find out how they got the colour. They achieved it by using the yellow paua shell and then the steampunk design on top, I really like the design and would never have thought of it. :grinning:
