Schiit Fulla 2 Impressions Thread
Is there anything I can do to elimate the ugly 3.5mm converter when using 2.5mm headphones? It kills the clean look of the dac/amp. Still don't get why all the non-dac'd connections are 2.5mm, but the main is 3.5mm. It's so ugly with an adapter plugged in.- speakerlao

PX100-II Review | Discussion Thread
I had the HD414 pads on for a while and slowly noticed something. The 414 pads ruin these headphones for gaming. They're good for music, but they hide a lot of small details. Stick to the stock pads if you do any gaming that requires picking up small sound details like footsteps from medium-long...- speakerlao

PX100-II Review | Discussion Thread
I answered that in the post, but here: (This is the normal way, but the metal frame and plastic are way too stiff/strong and have crazy memory and eventually return to shape after a few hours. I did this for a few weeks and they would always return to really bad clamping. This is what...- speakerlao

PX100-II Review | Discussion Thread
Ok, here is a little guide on how to stretch your headphones without snapping them and getting a perfect bend while relieving like 90% of the vice grip clamp. 1. Find a box that is slightly larger than your heads width (1/2" max). Don't use pillows or soft objects, as it can create a...- speakerlao

PX100-II Review | Discussion Thread
That could be because there are lots of fakes out there. I also noticed the little foam earpads have a huge impact on the sound. I had some left over PortaPro foam pad replacements I got from Amazon, and they make the PX2 sound really bad. If you hold the foam up to a light, you want one that...- speakerlao

I'm just going to super glue the hinge on and keep them as a backup pair, as both channels still work. Sorry! Now I have to endure the pain of breaking in my other pair.- speakerlao

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)
Someone please explain to me why buying HD800 for gaming isn't a waste of money even if you have money to burn? When you factor in that almost every game on the market has horrible sound processing with terrible iterations of things like DSP. Is something like a pair of $1,000 headphone really...- speakerlao

PX100-II Review | Discussion Thread
1 pair of pads over the other? That sounds horrible for some reason, at least reading it. The only thing I did was switch the pads from my PortaPro onto the PX, as they're a bit thinner and worn in, so I get a bit better bass response, as the driver is closer to my ear. Weird...- speakerlao

How well does the clamping force relax with break-in over time? I can't stand them for more than an hour, but I love the sound. Wondering if I can remove the drivers and swap them to the PortaPro?- speakerlao

Which microphone with open headphones?
Modmic Modmic's are way overpriced. A cheap $3 lapel mic from eBay offers near identical voice clarity, if not better. You're just paying for the name and the mounting system of the modmic. If that is worth $40+ to you, by all means, go for it.- speakerlao

Best gaming mice
Anything Zowie. G502 is nice, but it's too heavy and it looks hideous. Shame Logitech started styling their mice to appease to 12 year olds. Look at how the gaming peripheral design has transformed over the years: I prefer Zowie mice after trying the most popular Logi...- speakerlao

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)
Got a pair of PX100ii today. Really like them more than my PortaPro and they sound a lot more airy and better for sound positioning in games. The bass also sounds a lot cleaner and balanced when compared to the PortaPro. But jesus lord, I've never had a headphone with such ridiculous clamp. I...- speakerlao

I ended up returning the Philips SHP9500 despite giving them good praise. They were really comfy and really good for music, but the soundstage width was just lacking too much for gaming and my taste. I think the MA900 spoiled me. If you don't care about competitive gaming, they are really good...- speakerlao

The AKG K7XX Massdrop First Edition Thread
MA900 are really hit or miss though. Some complain about the headband, some complain about the bottom of the cups pinching the jawline, etc. I personally found the SPH9500 more comfy than the MA900, but the soundstage is inferior.- speakerlao

I highly doubt they're using the older engine, so the whole core mechanics will feel completely different to a purist. You can expect physics, hit reg, etc - to all be different from the original. Pretty much Black OPS 3 disguised as COD4.- speakerlao
