FiiO Q5, Flagship DAC/Amp, an Dual DAC, USB/Optical/Coaxial/Line in, share the same amp module with X7.

Hi Duncan! I haven't tried any other amp modules yet but will receive a balanced cable for my T5p soon, so I may be able to give another take on its use with Q5. Some people on the T5p thread have remarked that it would be another step up in sound quality due to more current. I think AK8TIE...

FiiO Q5, Flagship DAC/Amp, an Dual DAC, USB/Optical/Coaxial/Line in, share the same amp module with X7.

Hi everyone! Currawong's review made me interested in the different digital filters. Is there any way to change them using an Android phone? I didn't find any option for that in the Fiio Music beta app. Really enjoying it so for with Beyer T5p 2nd and especially with AK8TIE mk2 on balanced mode...

    New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation

Hey springbay, can you please elaborate on the sound differences between balanced out and single ended? I've recently bought a Fiio Q5 with the AM3A Amp module. It's supposed to sound quite similiar to Fiio X7 MkII according to a few reviews, so I should be getting similar results when going...

    New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation

I bought the T5p with the intention of using it as a portable headphone for public transport as well as home listening in the first place. It has become a great headphone for listening at home and whenever I don't want to disturb anyone else. Here's why: I tried it outdoors on two days in the...

New Dragonfly Black and Red Discussion

Congrats on the purchase, I'm glad you like them too! :) In my opinion, they're even better with Brainwavz HM5 angled pads which very subtly boost the bass and don't break the bank. Check out the Beyer T5P thread for some more info ;)

New Dragonfly Black and Red Discussion

@Tennessee: If you're into the soundstage of the DT1770pro but didn't like the bass, go for a used T5P 2nd Gen. It has a much more defined bass than the DT1770pro and even greater soundstage and sounds great with the DFR Red ;)

    New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation

Hey Guys! Unfortunately I've lost my Dunu DN2000j in ears phones recently. Therefore I am looking for an in ear phone with a similar sound signature to my desktop Beyerdynamic T5P 2nd Gen (earpads exchanged for a little bit of bass boost). Since this is the corresponding thread for the T5P I...

Very nice, glad I could contribute to help! Let's see if the brightness issue can also be solved by the new pads ;)

    New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation

Hey Bill, the pads were easy to install compared to the original ones. They have a very stretchable lip which you can easily stretch over the edges of the cups. I guess it took 10mins tops the first time, 5mins the second time. Comfort is really nice, I don't have any issues with pressure on...

    New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation

Hey Bill,  thanks for sharing the experience! I've been listening to the T5p Gen 2 with the Brainwavz angled pleather pads for a about a week now and can definitely confirm your findings! Unfortunately it is quite difficult to do an A/B comparison between the stock earpads and the Brainwavz...

    New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation

Thanks for this very comprehensive answer! I've read the info about the amps and their impendance on the DT1770Pro thread and was just curious whether there is any noticeable change in the signature with Beyerdynamics own amps. I'm going to try some other earpads soon, because it would be great...

    New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation

I'm also just curious, wondering if the Dragonfly is a good match. Don't get me wrong, I really like the T5P on like 80% of my other music, especially classic music and rock ;) It's a fantastic headphone and I wouldn't want to miss its great soundstage and resolution (which often is a tradeoff...

    New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation

@tjmax: i've read that Beyers phones are intended to be used with an amp with higher output impedance. How did it change with different amps? Did you achieve a little "warmer"/"fuller" sound signature with the A2? How well did it work with the bass boosts of both HA2 and fiio e18 (if you have...

    New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation

Unfortunately I can't compare them to the aforementioned Grado headphones, however, I do or did have some rather sibilant headphones. Comparing them to Audio Technica WS99 (very sibilant at high volumes), M50 or Dunu Dn2000J, the treble is very smooth, also on poorly mastered music. So no...

Thanks for the advice Texasbuck! Guess I'll stick to the Dragonfly then and maybe try some different amps in a shop soon, in order to see whether there is a lot of difference ;)

    New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation

@Sabientje65 How do you like the combination so far? I'm also running the T5P 2nd from the Dragonfly Red. Sometimes I use Equalizer APO to increase the bass a little (+6db from 0 to 80hz). @all I'm still wondering what it would sound like with a tube amplifier. Has anyone tried that? Maybe even...

    New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation

Did he used the regular or angled pads, synthetic or lamb skin leather? I wonder if the angled ones mess up the soundstage, since the drivers are already angled. Sorry for all those questions. I'm really interested, as the regular pads are a little uncomfortably pressing on my earlobes.. Would...

    New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation

Thanks for this awesome recommendation! The first Equalizer where I don't feel like all other frequencies suffer from a little bass boost (I've added 6db to 25, 7db to 40 and 63 and 1db at 100hz)! Now I can turn up the bass for EDM to make it sound like less peircing version of the DT1770pro :)...

    New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation

@Condocondor: I've compared them side by side twice in two different shops for at least one hour all in all. As they were demo units, I'm sure they were fully broken in (if that exists). In my experience, the DT1770 has definitely got more bass quantity which was really nice on electronic music...

Got it on an eBay auction for a great price of 555€. However I also advise to check out Amazon UK or Spain. Saw them for a solid 743€ there from Amazon or trustworthy sellers and was ready to pull the trigger on those offers before I saw the auction.

Audeze EL-8 Closed Version Impressions Thread

Hey! Does anyone both have the t5p 2nd gen and the audeze el8 (2016) or ti? I've listened to the Beyer for a longer time in a hifi-shop, but I'm concerned about the reported isolation and leakage. I really liked the soundstage and excellent seperation. How does the Audeze compare...
