I have found not other improvements. 

M3 now supports DSD playing in the latest firmware update, which I think is a real bonus. 

While browsing file, hold the left button and there will be a menu. 

I can't find PH300 for sale anywhere, only PH100. It seems that PH300 has already been stopped.   The difference between them is only on the tube?

Cheer for similar solution...the size of this player is fairly not small.    But putting in the pocket of jeans is still acceptable.

Coxial cables mustn't work...   you need a specific optical cable, one end is round while one end is square. 

No manipulation is needed.    Are you using a correct cable? The kind of optical cable is quite extraordinary...it is a 3.5mm like optical. 

optical input-M3 acts as DAC and headphone AMP optical output-M3 is a digital turntable, connecting to DAC and amps.    Wish these make sense

Put the file m3.fw in the root folder of your TF card, and select "update" in the menu, very easy. 

Some said the sound quality varies between different firmware versions... I am doubting this.    At least I am very happy with Version2.0, but the problem is that volume goes a bit smaller.

Skip, fast forward/backward and volume adjustment. This function newly added in the recent firmware.    Shanling releases many versions of firmware-I feel like every 10 sec a new version:)

  I did took some pictures of the DAP since it looks interesting. Well I am glad to share some pics but there is an AI politely stops me.  "Do not post any picture since you are a junior user, or your computer will turn to a bomb." 

  Yes, there is a "screen-locked operation" option.    No equalizer since Shanling seems to insist on their Hi-Fi preference. 

  Normally I listen with the earphone FITEAR Fitear for POP music-don't like going anywhere with a full-size headphone :)   But the driving power of M3 is more than enough! 

M3 owner here. Glad to see a thread about it.    Incredibly this DAP sound FAR MORE better when it warms up-it heats after about one hour replaying.    Comparing to another player X5 at about this price, I think the sound performance of X5 is more standard while M3 is more musical.    I am...
