$1k IEM Recommendation
I'm personally considering the Dunu SA6, Monarch MK2 or Sony M9. The Blessing 2 (Dusk) were a bit too big fo me, and uncomfortable. Though it seems the Monarch isnt small too.- sssssam

ES-R10 closed back dynamic headphone Sony R10 Replica Discussion/Impressions
Cant believe I've never heard about this replica project ! Will definitely read most of this thread. Never heard the original R10 but it's one of my favorite looking HPs of all time.- sssssam

Kennerton ODIN, MAGISTER, VALI, Magni, Gjallarhorn, Rögnir, Thridi, Wodan, Thekk, and Thror Discussion.
Still to this day, the Vali is one of the most fun and engaging open-back I've ever heard. I just wished it had better treble extension, it sometimes sounded a bit muffled (while having nice stage and macro-contrast). Bass was great !- sssssam

Most comfortable I've ever tried : Sony MDR-F1 and Sennheiser HD540, but they're long discontinued.- sssssam

Hifiman Ananda
Has anyone compared Ananda to the Edition X V2 ? Mostly about technicalities, resolution, macrodynamics. I guess from measurements that the Ed X V2 is a bit warmer.- sssssam

ZMF Auteur Thread
After having heard most headphones in the 1-2k range, Auteur are still among my favorite, with the original Hifiman HE-6. I'd say the Hifiman Arya and LCD-X 2021 (with EQ) are my other favorites.- sssssam

Good $400 closed bassy headphone?
I also agree for the Emu Teak. Also conside the Fostex TR-X00 / TH-X00 or even the older Denon D5000/7000 (found used). The D7200 is also quite good, but comfort can be problematic.- sssssam

What diffirent between HD800s vs Audeze LCD-5 signature? Anyone has both of this?
I havent heard the LCD-5, only the HD800, but based on measurements, they will sound very different. The LCD-5 seems neutralish with much more upper-mids around 1-4 khz compared to the HD800s, and very flat bass to mids. The HD800 has a wider mid-bass/lower-mids emphasis, with recessed...- sssssam

Looking for a nice bassy headphone
In your list, the Meze 99 is the bassiest, but I wouldnt call it a very good bass quality. I would honestly go for a Fostex TR-X00 or Emu Teak. Very solid sub-bass and punch.- sssssam

Looking for a solid (used) (planar) open-backs with an emphasis on sub-bass
Usually, LCD-2.1 have the old style foam headband and the wooden connectors. Their SN usually start by 569. IMO the best options are either a planar + bass EQ, or a Focal Elex/Clear (very punchy bass with solid extension, but doesnt have the low-end rumble of an Audeze/Hifiman)- sssssam

Family says my Arya open backs are too loud.
The LCD-XC is one of the best in my opinion, especially with EQ. Neutralish with top level resolution for a closed-back. The isolation isnt the best though, but it doesnt leak much.- sssssam

Over ear headphones for 400/500$
Well the SRH1540 seems fine. I also noticed W1000Z and the Alpha Dog, are they worth the price ? Are these headphones good upgrades ? I'm not sure if the NAD is at a superior level to the Soundmagic HP150. Read some discussions where they were directly compared and told as concurrent. I have...- sssssam

Over ear headphones for 400/500$
Hi everyone, I'm new here and I created a thread because I can't decide. I'm looking for new headphones : - Budget : 400/500$ (for new or used cans) - Utilisation : mainly at home but I need a minimum of isolation to protect from soft ambient noise. I could use them a few times a year...- sssssam
