You'll need the card for Firmware, HPEQs, and PRIRs. They are very cheap, and since Smyth wants them formatted "FAT32" you'll need to buy 16 or 32 GB. Sandisk is probably one of the better ones. Make certain you back everything up, and do that every time the content on the card is revised.

Trying to reduce the number of remotes. I don't realistically expect the SB to replicate all the functions of each remote, but input selection, volume, power, and a few other basic functions would enable me to at least put 4 of them in the tv stand drawer.

The file has to naked inside the Realiser folder. It can not be in a folder inside the Realiser folder. It has to taken outside the folder of firmware and placed directly,(unzipped file) inside the Realiser folder, as a stand alone file.

All I can tell you is I connect my Coax on the A16 to a Octo Dac 8 Pro and connect that DAC to a Topping A70 Pro, and I find it to be flawless. There are a whole lot of very good DACs and amps out there for very modest prices which are probably better than the A16's which are an 8 yo design...

You should try the COAX. I connect my Octo Dac8 Pro via spdif converted by Canare transformer to AES/EBU and it works fine.

No I mean the Dac 8 Pro. I use a Canare BCJ-XP-TRB Spdif to AES transformer to adapt the A16 output for the Octo. Also requires an RCA to BNC adaptor to work with the Canare's input.
