Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions
I've been listening to the r70x for two days now, and I wanted to share my thoughts on the headphone in comparison to the HD650. Build wise, I thing they are wonderful - light, yet sturdy and well designed. I have a fairly large head, and find myself pushing the two wings right to the...- Vy7478

Audio-Technica ATH-R70x - In-Depth Review & Impressions
Just recieved a used R70X and have been listening to it for a couple of hours. I must confess that I find them to be a fairly dark sounding headphone. Excellent bass extension and some warmth, very neutral midrange, and a fairly subdued treble response. To my ears, there seems to be a...- Vy7478

Headphones for Classical music
Congrats on your new headphone! I find the HD6 series to be underrated for classical - despite their relative shorrtcomings in the soundstage and imaging departments, their natural tonality and resolution more than make up for it. I still consider the HD800 to still be the holy grail of...- Vy7478

Audeze LCD-X
Hello all! I am lucky enough to have my friend's lcd-x over for a little bit of time. I'm looking forward to some critical listening, and especially some comparisons with my lcd-2! Monoprice Monolith Desktop THX Amp/DAC (#24459) - Impressions Thread
Have to agree with you that the SE output is really quite lacking. I am using them balanced, which is more than enough power to drive the 800's, but the sound is noticeably softer and warmer. Definitely makes the 800's much more tolerable over long listening sessions, but definitely not...- Vy7478

Monoprice Monolith Desktop THX Amp/DAC (#24459) - Impressions Thread
Been a pleasure going through the thread. Has anyone heard the 788 with HD800's? I was curious since I've seen comments that the synergy between the massdrop 789 and the 800's weren't great. I currently have the 800's with the massdrop lcx, and the sound is relatively smooth and warm to my...- Vy7478

Thanks, I've heard good things about both. Both are apparently a little more intimate with more bass? Would anyone be kind enough to elaborate?- Vy7478

Grado Fan Club!
Currently burning in my GS1000i's and I'm impressed with everything I'm hearing. This got me wondering: What would be another Grado model that would complement the GS1000i's sound signature?- Vy7478

Thank you. Cannot say I wasn't surprised to find you much preferred the 1000i's to the 1000e's considering they are supposedly a revision of the i's- Vy7478

What are everyone's thoughts between the GS1000i and 1000e in terms of pure detail and transparency? I can get the 1000i's for around 300usd cheaper, is that a better deal? (plus the more vintage/classy look of the 1000i is one I actually prefer :) )- Vy7478

Sennheiser IE800 IEM's
Just got myself a pair of IE800's and my oh my are they breath-taking. The detail is pretty amazing, soundstage mesmerising, and the bass is spot on. However, the treble was a little too much for my tastes. I wonder of they'll calm down a little with some burn in...- Vy7478

Sennheiser IE800 vs. Shure SE846: Which one is superior in terms of price?
Thank you all for the information provided on this thread! Really helping me with my research. There seem to be varying descriptions of the IE800's sound. Some say it's neutral, some say it's very bass heavy and v-shaped. Some say mids are slightly recessed while other say there is a W...- Vy7478

Earbuds Round-Up
Just got the **** Z&W's and wow... these are pretty great even without much burn-in. Similar signature to the Monk+ but much more detail and dynamics. Compared to the Tomahawks, these are still very detailed and makes the Tomahawks sound a little thin, very happy and well worth the 39USD price...- Vy7478
