Without objective proofs, I'll stand by my recommendation and keep recommending the kabeldirekt cables, as I frankly love them.     I will highly recommend the X2. That's said, the K7xx is "legendary" if you play online competitive FPS. ^_^

Cable resistance can have a impact, and maybe others things too, not all the cables are the same.  That the reason I highly recommend kabeldirekt audio cables, I got 2 different (one 3m, one 1.5m + one extension cable) and they work really good with the X2, as far i can tell.  ...

A little update about the Fidelio X2 and the O2/Odac combo. (Used on Linux).   They both pairing very great ;) I'm very happy about this purchase.   I built it myself, using a custom X1 gain for the X2.   And yes, to my subjective ears, the sound is way better than my on-board sound...

It's a open headphone.  The X2 leak sound, and (almost) don't isolate from the outside. What you might want is a closed headphone.

Just a little message that after almost one year (IIRC), I'm still very happy with my X2. Fantastic headphone ! Also, I highly recommend Kabeldirekt cable to go with them (they are fantastic with X2 and 18 months warranty).

After 10 months of daily use, It recommend these so much... I love mine The only thing I would replace on mine IS the pads, because after 10 months, they still leak ink. And they decided to glue them.

Hahaha ! Same for mine, it vibrate a lot on both ears. And to be honest, I love it. It's like a massage for your ears. But for me, it's on both side.
