Philips Fidelio X2?!
@cc1995 Congrats on your purchase. If I may ask, since it's an open headphone (and the X2 do leak sound), I believe you will listen to it from your home, so is there a reason to not simply use your computer ? or even if you want to move a lot in your house, a portable audio player ? I know...- Sunrider6

Philips Fidelio X2?!
Without objective proofs, I'll stand by my recommendation and keep recommending the kabeldirekt cables, as I frankly love them. I will highly recommend the X2. That's said, the K7xx is "legendary" if you play online competitive FPS. ^_^- Sunrider6

Cable resistance can have a impact, and maybe others things too, not all the cables are the same. That the reason I highly recommend kabeldirekt audio cables, I got 2 different (one 3m, one 1.5m + one extension cable) and they work really good with the X2, as far i can tell. ...- Sunrider6

Philips Fidelio X2?!
@RSC08 Sorry I can't compare it to the official X2 cable because I never had the official one. It does some microphonics, but I find it good/acceptable, but it really depends on you and your preferences. I don't even know if you can find one without microphonics noise with the X2. I would...- Sunrider6

I suggest you a kabeldirekt cable : https://www.amazon.com/KabelDirekt-3-5mm-Stereo-Audio-Cable/dp/B00RXNUELM This is what I use for mine. :) I also use their extension cable for my TV. I highly recommend them, and they come with a 18 months warranty.- Sunrider6

Philips Fidelio X2?!
I remember having a hard time buying them new... in February or March 2015 in France. So much hard time that I gave up and bought them secondhand because I couldn't find them easily. I would just wait a little bit ^_^ I was wondering about getting a second pair... in the end I just bought...- Sunrider6

A little update about the Fidelio X2 and the O2/Odac combo. (Used on Linux). They both pairing very great ;) I'm very happy about this purchase. I built it myself, using a custom X1 gain for the X2. And yes, to my subjective ears, the sound is way better than my on-board sound...- Sunrider6

O2 AMP + ODAC
I didn't connected the aluminum case to the GND plane at all, so maybe it's the issue ^_^ I will try it in a couple of hours or tomorrow. Thank you for trying to help, it's appreciated ;)- Sunrider6

O2 AMP + ODAC
Hi there, I have just finished building my O2 amp, as well as putting my Odac in there, using the "method 2", that consist of cutting 2 traces of the input jack, to be able to still use the input jack of the O2. I bought the full kit, as well as the Odac, from www.headnhifi.com. (really...- Sunrider6

Philips Fidelio X2?!
I want to *believe* they should be of the same sound quality, whatever it's gibson or woox. That said, just look if the pads are detachable. If you ask me, it was a bad decision to glue them, that something that shouldn't happened in the first place. Probably 2 things, one is your...- Sunrider6

Philips Fidelio X2?!
I just received the bass plus cushions, I figured it's good to have replacement pads, considering I use the fidelio X2 up to ~16h a day. Costed me ~34€ for one pair + 3€ for shipping in Europe. Surprisingly, they were at first hard to put on the headphone. I believe they need some time to...- Sunrider6

That the thing with the X2, they are a great all rounder headphone. Music, movies, gaming ... and you add this 35 ohm impedance, you can use it on your phone, mp3 player, TV, consoles... I also use mine not only on my computer, but on my TV as well, and I'm very happy about this. I...- Sunrider6

It's a open headphone. The X2 leak sound, and (almost) don't isolate from the outside. What you might want is a closed headphone.- Sunrider6

I have read somewhere in this thread (sorry it's 721 pages I won't try to search it) by an user that both woox and gibson sounded the same, maybe it's just you that don't like the X2 ? For some reason, your brain and ears need time to accommodate to the X2, and thus, I won't be surprised that...- Sunrider6

I edited my post because I was wrong, I do have a loss on SQ... :( I prefer to be wrong and accept it instead of spreading wrong information over the internet. Sorry for the trouble. I'm going back to the (ink bleeding) stock pads. I don't recommend anymore HM5 leather earpads for...- Sunrider6

Just a little message that after almost one year (IIRC), I'm still very happy with my X2. Fantastic headphone ! Also, I highly recommend Kabeldirekt cable to go with them (they are fantastic with X2 and 18 months warranty).- Sunrider6

Trust me - you are not alone. I'm in for preservation. I have the cash to buy another HP if I wanted, but even then, if would give/sell the old pair back, so I want it to be "functional". It bug me when something that you don't plan to use -in good shape- are left unused, when someone...- Sunrider6

After 10 months of daily use, It recommend these so much... I love mine The only thing I would replace on mine IS the pads, because after 10 months, they still leak ink. And they decided to glue them.- Sunrider6

(I'm just thinking out loud here). The thing is since I discovered how much the sound can be tweaked with only post-processing sound effects ... 2 products may use the same (cheap or not) or similar hardware but output a completely different sound. So, I won't talk about durability, but...- Sunrider6
