Focal Utopia 2022 Review, Measurements
I think I'll be okay, I'm listening to 60% on low gain on my M15 dongle. Thanks for the reply! Happy listening. I do agree that electronic music sounds sublime on focal headphones. I was somewhat impressed with an OG Clear audition with a questyle twelve. Prefer the elex's tuning however. I'll...- ScottPilgrim

Focal Utopia 2022 Review, Measurements
All I'll say is, eagerly waiting for a day focal engineers will develop a pair of headphones that clip at 125dB+, leaving enough headroom for a true concert hall experience. FWIW, Concert halls can reach upto 137dB.. and the thought that I can't have a concert hall in my head with 4000$ is a bit...- ScottPilgrim

Focal Utopia 2022 Review, Measurements
So do these headphones still clip or not? I have a pair of elex and I am planning to save up for a long time to upgrade. My elexes already clip a little on some tracks because i listen to very high volumes. If this investment is this risky i might as well look into planars as much as I abhor...- ScottPilgrim

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)
Interesting. Do they push out more power than the LG on high impedance mode? I am looking for a lot more energy in the sound though, but im struggling to find the headroom for eqing it in.- ScottPilgrim

Planars have flat OI curve. They sound almost the same out of all sources, provided they have matching vrms regardless of Oi. Partly the reason I opted for them as I dont wanna deal with the headache of upgrading gears for no reason whatsoever.- ScottPilgrim

Someone send help ... I can't take them off my head!!! driving them with my LG G7 One on Aux. Almost reaching my listening levels as I break them in. wonder what else can upgrade this awesome sound, taking the soundstage a bit further. EVERYTHING sounds good on them! I equalized my KPE according to my preferred sig. They need extreme levels of eq to change the sound profile a little bit. With -5.5 preamp i need to turn the volume up to 87% for the kpe to sing. i use an LG G7 one, using the es9218p dac from LG smartphones in aux mode. In aux mode, the amp...- ScottPilgrim

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
That's indeed a bummer as LDAC is sony's very own tech ... hopefully the next iteration will have something. Do you guys have any opinion the CKR7TW by Audio Technica by any chance?- ScottPilgrim

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
I was under the impression of Sony WF1000XM3 allowing LDAC transmission. Could be wrong though. I love the convenience and the shape of the Galaxy buds, but can't be arsed to let go of the reliability of iOS, especially after jailbreak. Thank you for the suggestion! I am really keen to try out...- ScottPilgrim

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
After venturing a little into mid-lowrange IEMs, i am finally thinking of going entirely wireless, as I am tired of getting tangled into shiny wires when I want to listen to music. Now, my biggest concern is my device, which is an XS max. Admittedly it isn’t the best device to stream music...- ScottPilgrim
