The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
Just tried listening to house/techno/dubstep with the HD800s. I gotta say, they perform remarkably well lol. I didn't think they'd pair so well with these genres. o.o- Dragonsan

Anyone else here feel their ears go numb* after listening to these? It's a very dull, numb pain in my ears. It's the first time it's really happened while listening to these. I only listened for about 30 minutes at about 1/4 volume.. o.o- Dragonsan

Shure SE846 Impressions Thread
Perhaps you're just really sensitive to mids/highs in general? Also, check the quality of your source files. If they're LQ MP3 rips, expect sibilance and headaches. The last thing I'd call the SE846s are "overly bright". Hm. Interesting...- Dragonsan

Shure SE846 Impressions Thread
Really? I felt that the white filters were as close to clarity to the IE800s as one could get... if anything sounded thin and sibilant to me (at times), it was the IE800s, though one must keep in mind that they aren't necessarily the most forgiving IEMs (unlike the SE846s). I much prefer the...- Dragonsan

Sennheiser IE800 IEM's
In my experience, it doesn't really improve much with burn-in. Probably my biggest gripe when I owned the IE800s were their sparkly, almost artificial, treble. Detail, as always, is outstanding though. Easily one of the best IEMs that I owned. Usually I found the sibilance problem to be...- Dragonsan

Shure SE846 Impressions Thread
The Audioquest Dragonfly v1.2 works wonders with them. --- I decided to go along with someone's suggestion a month or so ago regarding using an impedance adapter with the SE846. I have to say I'm quite disappointed. Instead of making it get a much larger soundstage, I found that the...- Dragonsan

Sennheiser IE800 IEM's
The IE800s are a great pair of IEMs, arguably the best universals in its price range. But perhaps my biggest gripe with them would be the accentuated treble. It's can at times, be very fatiguing to listen to. While the treble contributes to its massive soundstage, it can also make a...- Dragonsan

Sennheiser's IE800 or Shure's SE846
I'll repost my comparison of these two from a while back for people who are in a similar dilemma. ---- I'll do a quick comparison of the IE800 and the SE846s. I feel that many of the people who respond to the question to "which is the more superior IEM" is failing to regard the opposing...- Dragonsan
