New Full Wireless from Sony and BeoPlay
Picked up a pair of the XM2s. They sound pretty good over Bluetooth on iOS. They don’t really advertise it, but they do support AAC (wireless) as well as DSEE XX. Haven’t listened to them wired yet. That all said, the noise cancellation is magical. You just can’t believe how much sound gets cut...- drizek

The AKG K7XX Massdrop First Edition Thread
Guys I made a thing. The suspension was getting loose, so I coiled string up to the point where I wanted it to stop. I've seen other people gluing them or using rubber bands. I think this is better looking and it isn't permanent. I need to use this string for something else, but once I buy new...- drizek

The AKG K7XX Massdrop First Edition Thread
As someone with a small head, I find these uncomfortable since they don't stay still. THe ear cups are huge too, which feels weird. They exert very little pressure though and are quite light. I Prefer my HD700s though; it's a wash with the HD 600, which are heavier/more pressure but feel more...- drizek

Massdrop x Noble X Universal IEMs Review / Preview
Listening with the lightning cable. Arcade Fire is not as great as I would have liked. Maybe a bit unbalanced, the instruments drown out the vocals, and the vocals seem to lack emotion. The sound signaure is amazing for The National, though. The detail is amazing though. I need to A/B...- drizek

Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread
Ya, I was joking about how ridiculous Sennheiser's prices were for this thing, especially now that the headophone sells for only $150 more than the cable by itself.- drizek

Just don't mess up the cable, it still costs over $300 to get a new one from Sennheiser.- drizek

Crack;Bottlehead OTL
Guys, my Bottlehead has been sitting in the closet for over a year now. It worked okay for the first year I had it, without speedball, although I did have some issues with microphonics. Last year I decided to install the speedball upgrade though and I messed something up during the installation...- drizek

They're big, and they don't touch my ears. But the HD800 are bigger if that's your #1 priority :)- drizek

Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread
Have had these for a couple months. Still not sure what to think; they are amazing for some things, but miss the mark for others. I've started listening to rap on them though, and I was really blown away by how well they handle it. Great bass, they have no trouble keeping up with the music, and...- drizek

Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Thread
Huh. That's actually really tempting. I've abused mine so much though I wonder if they are still good sonically. I had issues with earwax getting in them so I would clean them by soaking with hydrogen peroxide and water. They always worked fine afterward, but I'm curious if they are still as...- drizek

Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Thread
To be fair, i owned them for about 5 years before they broke (I did need 3 cable replacements though) The bass is really quite good for an iem. Keep in mind, I came from an Ety ER4P. I also don't find the highs to be harsh, certainly nothing like a Beyerdynamic or AKG k701. And for...- drizek

Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Thread
Mine broke. The front part of the headphone that holds the tip just separated from the back part (the part with the metallic green paint). I've since purchased three new pairs of full size open headphones, which I enjoy, but I'm still left without a good IEM. The Triple.Fi 10s were...- drizek

So even after a couple days of burn in, I still get a lot of distortion from my amp. Is it time to call up Bottlehead and ask for a replacement tube, or is there something else that could be wrong with it?- drizek

On the subject of not having the headphones plugged in, on the Bottlehead forum there is a recommendation that the two unused prongs on the headphone jacks be wired to ground (picture in the link) to keep startup voltage at 0 (with no headphones plugged in). ...- drizek

Just by touching it, and it is only on the right channel. I'm hearing some distortion as well during some bass notes, in both channels. (Intro by The XX causes it a lot, for example). It is still new though, so I'll let it run for a day or two to see if it goes away.- drizek
