I personally find these to be extremely comfortable, I have worn them for hours when working at the computer. Im sure there are other options out there, and some other recommendations form other members - but for the money I don't think you can go wrong especially for what you plan to use them...

Buying advice. Open, no amp, listen to music of all sorts...

I have never used a dedicated headphone amp with 240's. I use them directly on my iPad, iPod, laptop, and my desktop and never had an issue. They sound awesome and are plenty loud with all these sources and can go louder if I need. As with anything on the internet your mileage may vary, but this...

I am not an expert by any means, but I have 2 pairs of open/semi open headphones that I love for everything you mentioned above and to me they sound fantastic -   AKG K240 studio Samson SR850   Both of these are awesome and under $100.    I have beaten the hell out of the k240's using...

    Alternative to the mdr 7506

Yes - I tried with teh internal EQ on the piano, but it doesnt seem to do much, I also tried cutting down the bass on the other headphones as well and still no good -    I thought about adding an extrenal eq, but I kind of wanted to just plug and play..

Also - they do not need to be closed back phones - im good with opens as well. Id also consider in ear phones too if I can find a pair comfrotable enough.

    Alternative to the mdr 7506

I am primarily using these from my digital Piano - a Kawai ES7.    Very strange what i hear from different headphones from the piano -    1. Soundmagic hp150- Very muddy in the lows, no clarity in the trebles and piano seems to be unnaturally wide - almost like the bass is panned hard left...

    Alternative to the mdr 7506

The bass seemed to clear up on the hp150 some after putting a few hours on them, The bass is definitely tighter now - but I am still getting a weird choked sound when using it with my digital piano. Aside from that they really do sound amazing. The sound quality is pretty impressive and the...

    Alternative to the mdr 7506

Bothe sets came today. Very tough decision. The sound magic sound really good when connected directly to my iPad And computer, but seem to get really muddy when used with my Asgard 2. The m50 sounds good really good through the iPad and computer, but with a little bit of over exaggerated...

    Alternative to the mdr 7506

Soundmagic look interesting    Ive heard some mix reviews on the m50's - i hear they can be a bit bass heavy. I wish there was somewhere I can test these...

    Alternative to the mdr 7506

I Currently have the Sony MDR-7506 they sound great, but they are a little too bright for me - I like everything else about them, but the highs can get a little piercing and annoying if wearing them for a while.   Can anyone recommend a similar spec'd headphone with a more tamed treble?     ...

    Digital piano with headphones

I just heard back from the manufacturer - the impedance is around 100 ohms.    What would be a good amp to try out on this?

    Digital piano with headphones

I have a Roladn FP-80 digital piano. Through headphones it sounds awful. Very muddy with a spike in the low mids that gets very tiring to listen too.    I am using the SONY mdr 7506 headphones directly to the headphone jack - Typically these headphones are on the bright side so the muddiness...
