Four years after the L.K.S DA004: the Musetec DA005 DAC
I went on my own digital journey for a few years now. I started with a CEC CD player, followed by Baetis server. I decided to get into streaming as well, but didn't think that I would be happy with a regular computer for streaming. After some research, I decided on the Evo 432 server /...- moss

Four years after the L.K.S DA004: the Musetec DA005 DAC
I suggest you might try the Furutech FI-50 AC connectors. They are expensive, but are amazingly good. Sadly, I suspect we may never really find out how good the 005 is in the grand scheme of the audio world. I only know it is the best that I have had in my system. I have listened to many...- moss

Four years after the L.K.S DA004: the Musetec DA005 DAC
I bought my 005 from Shenzhen. Delivery was a bit slow. I suspect they didn't have it on hand, as previous purchases were very fast. I suspect the reason for the reduction in number of filters is because of the use of the FPGA. I think they are probably using superior custom filters rather...- moss

Four years after the L.K.S DA004: the Musetec DA005 DAC
I love the Lii speakers. I am using the Silver 10. They are probably as close to a true full range that I have heard. None of the usual upper midrange hardness. Depending on the type of music you listen to, you may not need any other drivers top or bottom. I didn't realize how much low end...- moss

Four years after the L.K.S DA004: the Musetec DA005 DAC
My associated equipment is in line price wise with the 005, but I like to think are good value, as I believe the 005 to be, in spite of its price. My preamp is the Horn Shoppe "The Truth", streamer / server is the Evo 432 High End, Empirical Audio Off Ramp 5, and Music Reference RM-9SE. My...- moss

Four years after the L.K.S DA004: the Musetec DA005 DAC
Hello all. I have been running my 005 for about 200 hours. I assumed that it would be better than my EVS modified 004, but I was not prepared for the level of improvement. It is pretty much better at every point of comparison that I can think of. Highs, lows, detail, and richness. The speed...- moss

L.K.S. Audio MH-DA004 Dual ES9038PRO DAC - Van Damme's double impact?
I was using an 004 until I received my 005. I am using an Empirical Audio Off Ramp 5 to good effect. I find the BNC and HDMI I2s both work very well. I did need a custom HDMI cable made to work with the LKS pin pattern.- moss

L.K.S. Audio MH-DA004 Dual ES9038PRO DAC - Van Damme's double impact?
When I bought from Shenzhen Audio in the past, it always came via DHL in about 3 days. I ordered some raw drivers from China recently, but they were delayed due to Covid. I recently got some equipment from Vancouver. Once it got to the US, it only took 2 days to get to me in Los Angeles.- moss

L.K.S. Audio MH-DA004 Dual ES9038PRO DAC - Van Damme's double impact?

L.K.S. Audio MH-DA004 Dual ES9038PRO DAC - Van Damme's double impact?
Yes, thank you for the comparison. I've been waiting for someone who has both the 004 and 005. Are you using a computer for your source, or a dedicated streamer / digital player? I am using an Empirical Audio Off Ramp 5 and HDMI I2s to my 004.- moss
