Beats is known for having very powerful (muddy) bass. I'm biased, I don't like them.V-Moda headphones are made of leather and steel, the cord is reinforced with Kevlar, and the plugs are 24K gold. Compared to Beats, which is made of cheap plastic, but isn't cheap. V-Moda is a much better choice...

I produce electronic music, and I have listened to the beats, and I have the V-moda Crossfade LP. I agree with you mostly, and I feel like the V-moda are a whole lot more balanced then the beats. I don't think they boost the bass that much, it does sound tighter. I hear the highs plenty clear...
