24bit vs 16bit, the myth exploded!
Pardon for interrupting gentlemen, but it's kinda baffling that 24bit vs 16bit is even open for debate. Isn't this one of easily disproved myths? Wasn't this settled like long time ago? Furthermore its hard to argue, if someone is unwilling to accept physics and math, and is instead proposing...- w00dman

Meaning they had already been imported in US and all customs duties had been payed? Lucky you. Where is this world coming to? I thought it was England that invented Common law There is no way in hell that anything moves unchecked past my Croatian customs. TBH I don't mind too much paying...- w00dman

Sennheiser HD518 HD558 HD598 HD559 HD589 HD579 HD599 Support Thread
Yeah I am aware that much of it is misleading marketing, but then again: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/high-end-pc-audio,3733-19.html I resolved this dilemma for myself by ordering SD-793II DAC/headphone amp, but with confirmation bias being strong within audio circles, I'd love to see...- w00dman

@VVCephei I see you keep mentioning ALC1150 as if looking for someone to confirm that the problem is due to your onboard audio. Which motherboard do you have? I have same codec on my Gigabyte Gaming mobo(it has some flashy pcb separation for audio and headphone amp) and I can't find anything...- w00dman

Reporting in that significant portion of sibilance on my Takstar HI2050 is gone after few days of use. Listening to New Order - True Faith (0m 35s mark) : There is no I feel sssso exsssstraordinary any more. Also the beginning of The Hobbit:The Desolation of Smaug - the rain lost the...- w00dman

Testing audiophile claims and myths
They are difficult because you can't just do the casual listening. I mean you can, but that's not of much value. I agree you don't have to win, but you have to make an active effort and try to isolate particular points of comparison. Also they are difficult for me because I've never been...- w00dman

Pioneer Se-A1000 vs Takstar Hi-2050 (Open Headphones)
Those EQ settings of his (vodkex) are terrible ;) 7100 hz, -9 dB, 0.3 11000 hz, -7 dB, 0.2 It's like listening to a music coming from a wooden barrel. LOL ^^ I use this with EqualizerAPO (+ Peace) to get rid of sibilance. C:\Program Files\EqualizerAPO\config\Peace.txt: Filter...- w00dman

Help for selecting new headphones (150 euro)
As for 2050, I am satisfied. I wish there was a little less clamping force (my head is big), but they are still comfortable enough. Also I could imagine some other headphones have more precise sound positioning than these. It's not fuzzy, but it could be better. I am not sure about not...- w00dman

Help for selecting new headphones (150 euro)
I vote this as the best answer :D With Sennheiser 558/598 also being a decent option. (Or do they need an amp?) BTW I have no personal insight in any of this. I am merely repeating what I had found out in the last month of intensive internet-reading on the headphones matter. During...- w00dman
