Wow.. I was assuming they wouldn't sell the separate cipher cable for $50 but $150 feels like they're gouging their existing customer base ... i do suspect there's some sort of Apple influence in all of this though

Apologies if this has already been posted ... A word of warning to anyone thinking of buying the standard set of Sines and picking up the Cipher cable later... go for the Cipher version if you have any thought on wanting to take advantage of one ... The response frame Audeze customer services...

Agree ... to a point ... I have owned both for about 6 months and out of the box, the H6s sound clearer with a nice treble extension... I was also thinking of sending the PM3s back for the same reason that initially they sounded dull and lifeless ... however a couple of things have stopped me...

Great post ...many thanks - I too tried the firmware update then rushed off to get some test MQA files from the 2L site    http://www.2l.no/hires/index.html   but all I was getting was the normal white LEDs ...   Followed Winterwolf's instructions to the letter and hey presto ... MQA blue...

Was over 7 months since it was announced and I got my Meridian Explorer 2 partially based on the MQA compatibility ... seems to be missing in action ... not even had a chance to try any test files...:blink: Music might be changing ... But at a snails pace :D

  Suspect they just play safe and only recommend supported connectivity with PC and Mac but it doesn't mean it doesn't work with other devices ... just some additional hurdles to overcome.   See my earlier post ref connecting to iPad .. suspect the same solution would work with Android...

I have the H6s and the AKG 550s (previous model to the 551 but very similar performance) and would say that the H6 are better I almost every way ... probably not surprising given the cost difference between the two. While the AKGs have great soundstage for a closed headphone compared to the H6...
