    Best jazz headphones under 100$

So guys, would you really not recommend the Grado SR80e for listening outside on a quiet road ?   I'm in Jazz, and hesitating between this one, the Shure SRH440, the Sony MDR-V6, the Koss PortaPro...  can't make my mind at all !

Thanks for the replies !  Ok then... let me restrain my quesion :    Can I use the Grados when I'm walking on a street where I pass by a person every 8 seconds on average, and the overall street noise level is really pretty low !  (because that's the street I walk by every day)     And : is...

Haha yeah...  But then what headphones would you recommend that have a sound similar to the Grado, but with less leakage..

But is the leaking worse on the Grados or the Koss PortaPro ?

    Grado e Series

Hey all !  So I'm not really in a mood to read the 163 pages on this post.. so Is it worth it, and is it possible to listen to it in the subway ?  (I don't mind that much that others hear my Jazz, but would I be extremely bothered by the outside noise, (as much as I can be with my Apple Earbuds ?))

Alright I can't get my mind clear and decided. Now all I read about is that the Grados are leaky as hell and are more of home headphones because of that,   and...  i would want to use them at different places...  on calm streets for sure (for my everyday walking to school), on the subway...

Sois it possible to add the Bayerdynamic Velour pads to the Grado SR80 ?  And would that be useful and would reduce noise leakage, or would it change the sound in a bad way?     Because, to be sure, the advantage of having 'open' headphones is that it feels like the sound is more...

Arg but...  I really like the design of the Grado.. :]   Are you guys sure it isn't goof for Jazz ?  Because I saw an entire article saying that it was a really good headset, and jazz was highly mentioned. But on forums and stuff people kind of say it has too much bass etc...   An its sound...

Thanks for the replies !   And if I get the V6, and I want to add a sort of color to it, I can just play gently with the EQ on my player app on my android phone right ?          Yes because I'm gonna be using the headphones outside mostly. (Are the V6 good portable headphones ?)

    Best jazz headphones under 100$

Thanks guys !    But I rally can't make my choice now...  All the headphones you listed have some bad reviews sound-wise and quality-duration-lifetime wise. Only the Sony MDR v6 seems to be loved by a lot of people.  But yeah it's a bummer that they are more monitoring-perfect sound, because...

    Best jazz headphones under 100$

Hi everyone! So yeah I'm re-discovering by leaving aside progressive rock to listen to JAZZ! And I just love it!! So I'm tired of my Apple Earbuds.. I want real over-the-ear headphones (but still portable) under 100$. I came over the Sony MDR-V6 and the Grado SR80e... People say the Grado...
