i got the same exact headphone and got the same exact adapter from amazon and had the same exact disappointment.  why are they doing this to us?  why don't they sell low profile 2.5 male to 3.5 female adapters?  this is ridiculous.  i don't want to have to go to a machine shop to shave the metal...
