iFi Audio Micro iTube2 Buffer
I'm sure iFi audio has an intention on the sound quality of the 3 options. Would it be correct to say that SET mode is more like the Digital Antidote Plus of the original iTube that has more even order harmonics, Push-Pull mode is less distortion and less even order harmonics, and Classic/Middle...- diamondears

iFi Audio Micro iTube2 Buffer
Hello @iFi audio. What is iFi audio's sound impression or intent/design on the sound character on the SET, Classic Tube and Push-Pull Tube settings? Cheers- diamondears

iFi Audio Micro iTube2 Buffer
Yes that’s my understanding too. Just saying I didn’t realize until now that it could be a preamp. But still, a Pro iTube buffer I like - diamondears

Pro iCAN is more like a headphone amp. Never thought it could be a preamp. Can it be a buffer (with constant gain)? Just max volume like the nano iDSD? I'd still wish a Pro iTube though for a much lesser price :)- diamondears

iFi Audio Micro iTube2 Buffer
Haha. Already have one, but the effects of the iFi iTube is substantial when I add it. I suppose moreso to a solid state amp. If the "pro iTube" would be sold at a price much lower than a regular tube preamp or buffer, I think it will be a huge success. Maybe put the same GE5670 tube, but...- diamondears

iFi Audio Micro iTube2 Buffer
Thinking of other brands of 5670, or even 6922. Can this be done? Is the GE 5670 tube inside the iTube/iTube2 just plugged (hence removable) or soldered?- diamondears

iFi Audio Micro iTube2 Buffer
Ok, thanks. Might scamper for an original iTube now as it’s sound is slightly different, like having a different amp. iTube2 is more resolving and transparent, but I hear a slightly different sound character. Due to the different (although same brand and type) tube probably?- diamondears

iFi Audio Micro iTube2 Buffer
Saw these. So SET is zero/least feedback, PP has more, and Classic has most? Which of these is exactly that of when Digital Antidote Plus is ON on the first iTube? Reason I ask is I seem to like the first iTube with Digital Antidote Plus ON. Or I just need to break-in the iTube2?- diamondears

iFi Audio Micro iTube2 Buffer
@iFi audio what's the difference between the first iTube's Digital Antidote Plus vs. iTube2's Tube+ switch? Also, on iTube2, re SET-Classic-PP switch, the differences are the amount of feedback? So SET is least/zero feedback, Classic most feedback, PP less than Classic but more than SET? Sorry...- diamondears

iFi Audio iGalvanic3.0 - The Holy Grail of Audio
Got a nano iGalvanic3.0 recently. Followed the manual--connect DAC first, turned micro iDSD on; and then connected my Macbook Pro. Worked perfectly. The following day, the iGalvanic cannot recognize the Mac (computer light doesn't stay on, either it blinks or it went off after a short while)...- diamondears

Can vinyls be cleaned by car shampoo, or any hair shampoo for that matter? Shampoos don't leave any stains, I believe, unlike soaps, detergents, etc. Have anyone tried car or hair shampoos?- diamondears

Can someone describe the differences in sound between the micro iDAC2 and micro iDSD? I know the differences may be minimal, but hoping someone could describe them.- diamondears

iFi iDSD Micro DSD512 / PCM768 DAC and Headphone Amp. Impressions, Reviews and Comments.
Didn't have the ODAC, just the O2, but been using the micro iDSD with the O2 for a while. IMO, micro iCAN is better, due to its richer lower mids and more bodied bass to sub-bass. And the XBass and 3D are really great, very useful if you want to tweak or correct recordings and/or headphones...- diamondears

iFi Audio Pro iDSD discussion thread
A pro iTUBE is still a good idea IMO. Maybe a pair, 3 or even 4 tubes, replaceable, tube-rolling capable, with multiple gain options to "season" the tube effect. And with 3D and Digital Antidote Plus. :)- diamondears

Is it too late to request/appeal to iFi to put 3D and on the pro iDSD? This would benefit a lot of speakers users.- diamondears
