TBH, I was just putting a feeler out there wrt the Ether Flows. I have read up quite a bit on them here on HF and some folks said they could be a bit bright while many others couched this rather in terms of sparkle or transparency. Personally, I like HPs that have great transient attack but...

I have just finished reading this entire thread and may purchase a Milo in the very near future. Just one quick question first. Has anyone heard the Milo driving Ether Flows? Any info would be great.

I realize these are a bit outside your stated budget, but my son just got a pair of Meze 99 Classics. They go for $309 new. I got a listen to them a couple of days ago and was VERY impressed. Very comfortable, nice tonality, little to no sibilance. Highly recommended if you can swing it.

I'm using an audio-gd C2 11th Anniversary amp. It will probably run in class A with your HD800's as it has gobs of power. It is very clean with a slightly warm signature and has jumpers that can be installed to make it sound slightly warmer. I haven't tried this yet.

My son decided to get the Meze 99 Classics. I don't know who is more excited, him or me, cuz I get to listen to them too. He picked up a Marantz CD6005 already and I'm helping him research some vintage integrateds over on AK. I just enjoy the heck out of doing this stuff.

I received the HP's about 2 hrs ago and put about 1 1/2 hrs on them.  With the small no. of hours on them, I won't comment on the sound yet.   However, I have noted one or two things regarding the fit.  One, even with a medium but somewhat narrow head, I needed a rubberband to get the HP's not...

I'm in SE WI and would be interested in any meet(s) in the Milwaukee/Madison/Fox Valley to Chicago area.  Brand new to HP listening, expecting a pair of A900x's to arrive in a couple of days, will be listening to them off an Onkyo TX-870 until I can afford/decide which HP amp to get.
