Just finished reading through the entire thread and didn't see any mention of this combo. Has anyone tried the Mainline with the ZMF Auteur? Comments?- BillJGW

Wells Audio Milo - Impressions And Discussion Thread
TBH, I was just putting a feeler out there wrt the Ether Flows. I have read up quite a bit on them here on HF and some folks said they could be a bit bright while many others couched this rather in terms of sparkle or transparency. Personally, I like HPs that have great transient attack but...- BillJGW

Wells Audio Milo - Impressions And Discussion Thread
I have just finished reading this entire thread and may purchase a Milo in the very near future. Just one quick question first. Has anyone heard the Milo driving Ether Flows? Any info would be great.- BillJGW

Closed-Back Headphone Recommendations?
I realize these are a bit outside your stated budget, but my son just got a pair of Meze 99 Classics. They go for $309 new. I got a listen to them a couple of days ago and was VERY impressed. Very comfortable, nice tonality, little to no sibilance. Highly recommended if you can swing it.- BillJGW

Desktop amp recommendations
I'm using an audio-gd C2 11th Anniversary amp. It will probably run in class A with your HD800's as it has gobs of power. It is very clean with a slightly warm signature and has jumpers that can be installed to make it sound slightly warmer. I haven't tried this yet.- BillJGW

HPs for power metal, $200 used
My son decided to get the Meze 99 Classics. I don't know who is more excited, him or me, cuz I get to listen to them too. He picked up a Marantz CD6005 already and I'm helping him research some vintage integrateds over on AK. I just enjoy the heck out of doing this stuff.- BillJGW

HPs for power metal, $200 used
I'm looking for some HPs for my son. When asked, he said his budget was up to $200 used. He listens to primarily power metal, e.g., Blind Guardian. He is looking for a balanced frequency response or maybe just a slightly boosted lower end. He cannot tolerate any brightness as he says it...- BillJGW

Audio Technica ATH-A900X Discussion Thread (Formerly A-900X Review)
So far, I have about 16-17 hours on them. I hate to say it but there is definitely a channel imbalance to the left side pretty much throughout the frequency range. A relatively mild tweak on the balance control on the TX-870 corrected this. Therefore, I will NOT be using these HP's with any...- BillJGW

Audio Technica ATH-A900X Discussion Thread (Formerly A-900X Review)
I received the HP's about 2 hrs ago and put about 1 1/2 hrs on them. With the small no. of hours on them, I won't comment on the sound yet. However, I have noted one or two things regarding the fit. One, even with a medium but somewhat narrow head, I needed a rubberband to get the HP's not...- BillJGW

Any meets in the Wisconsin Area? (Milwaukee, Madison, Fox Valley, Chicago)
I'm in SE WI and would be interested in any meet(s) in the Milwaukee/Madison/Fox Valley to Chicago area. Brand new to HP listening, expecting a pair of A900x's to arrive in a couple of days, will be listening to them off an Onkyo TX-870 until I can afford/decide which HP amp to get.- BillJGW

The A900x's are supposed to be here on Tuesday 12/30. Can't wait to get home from work that day! I'm a computer Luddite, but I'll try to load up a pic or two when they arrive. Have rubberbands at the ready as I wear a medium hat size.- BillJGW

Audio Technica ATH-A900X Discussion Thread (Formerly A-900X Review)
I'm not sure if I'd go with the Ember or Polaris (the SS model). Years back, I had some really huge tube monoblock amps and a tube preamp in the home rig (Atma-Sphere). The tube costs were truly astronomical, along with the desire to roll 'em, esp. in the preamp. What scares me about the Ember...- BillJGW

Audio Technica ATH-A900X Discussion Thread (Formerly A-900X Review)
Hi russdog, I'm only going to be using the HP's from a "conventional" system, i.e., a CD player, receiver (for now), to HP so no DAC will be needed. I will not be using them off a computer-based set-up as I have a different rig for that. Regarding modest, I'm thinking in the under $400...- BillJGW

Audio Technica ATH-A900X Discussion Thread (Formerly A-900X Review)
Just ordered a pair from Buydig. And the wait begins... For now, I'll be powering them off the HP jack on my Onkyo TX-870. When the funds are available, I'd like to get a modest desktop amp for them. I'm open to any and all suggestions. Thanks again, russdog. edit: Anyone have any...- BillJGW

So, where has everyone been getting the A900x's (or AD900x's) lately? Do you go through one of the Japanese sellers on Amazon and wait the 30-50 days stated for delivery time?- BillJGW

Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners
I'm waiting for a Yamaha CR-620 receiver to arrive in a couple of days. I'm also interested in the Sony STR-6065 receiver that PhoenixG recommended and a Harman Kardon HK 505 integrated amp. I just read a brief comparo on Audio Asylum between the Yamaha and HK that stated the Yammie was...- BillJGW
