To start off with the bad. Version 1.1 of the firmware and 1.0 of the sync software, quite honestly suck. It's like microsoft released alpha quality code. Specifically, automatic sync freezes outright. Manual sync on the other hand works ok, but even it will crash the process on occasion...

So i just got one and am fairly impressed. Only problems ive had are finding the best driver, because ASIO from winamp blows, and kernel streaming works 1% of the time. The problem with ASIO is that it works and sounds ok, but if windows or AIM plays a sound (which is often) it will crash...

so i found a few very VERY nice headfi shops found one selling a900's for 17000 yen or so and another for 20000 yen either price, at current rate, is VERY cheap for these. and im seriously pondering getting a pair. any other advice on akihabara or anywhere else in tokyo would be nice...

fair warning > im new here, but not to headphones. got the pair of HD-590's eagle driver was selling. pair they're replacing is some HD-212's (uncomfortable, boomy) vast improvement, but the sound is ever so slightly muffled. probably because i have no amp. and they are VERY open...
