Or maybe you guys could talk to people at Soundmagic. They have 'magically' made E10c (and others) remote fully compatible with both Android and iOS without requiring a switch. Just a thought.

Maybe only screen is malfunctioning. Have you tried connecting headphones to see if any music could be played using hardware buttons.

Nop No, I mean can it receive Bluetooth from smartphone using Aptx codec and play through headphones (3.5mm/ 2.5mm)? There are players (caying N3, shanling m2s) that can do this but not with Aptx.

@FiiO Can X5iii receive music via aptx (or even SBC) and play it ala caying N3/ shanling M2s (although these support only SBC)? Though I must admit, I do not see the need for this, I am just asking if it could ? Thanks

Is there a pattern to the stuttering problem? for example if only high resolution files 24/192 or DSD128 are stuttering or even 16/44 files are also stuttering? if only high res files stutter then the problem could be related to m1s. Yes only usb will play DSD unless you have a player that will convert dsd to pcm. Coax and optical are limited to 24bit/192khz.

Which DAC are you using with it? Normally you should put your DAC in USB mode (if it has multiple input options) and connect with your phone via USB/USB OTG cable as the case may be. Android should detect the DAC and audio should be diverted to DAC automatically.
