Sony NWZ-ZX1 - 35th Walkman Anniversary model
Am I correct in thinking that this doesn't even have a replaceable battery ? So, battery dies - throw it away ?- Gabe62

Looking for Quality MP3 Player with Android WiFi and Replaceable Battery - Less than £500 ?
F886 seems to be out due to poor built-in battery. Am I better off with a Cowon ? Do these have replaceable batteries, and will their aging Android systems support Spotify etc. streaming apps ? Thnx for any advice.- Gabe62

Why Has Sony F886 Been Discontinued ? Will There Be a Replacement ?
Oh dear. Yes, I guess with WiFi on as well, the already poor battery life will be even worse. Hadn't considered that ! Think I may look at Cowons... but they're on ancient Android versions... or hold out for ZX1. I already have the Minidisk flagship model to keep me going... but no...- Gabe62

Why Has Sony F886 Been Discontinued ? Will There Be a Replacement ?
How is the F886 when attached to headphone amp ? I am aware of the "Volume Issue", but am thinking my Fiio E17 may give it a bit more punch. Basically I just want it to stream Spotify or Sony Music via WiFi, with some equalisation ability - as the PS3 or laptop alternative has none, and...- Gabe62

Sony Music Unlimited on Cowon (Android 2.3) ???
Looking at a Cowon as alternative to Sony F886, but they all appear, to have old versions of Android. So, can it be upgraded, and if not, does anyone know if Sony Music Unlimited streaming app, will work on a very old version of Android ? Thnx in advance- Gabe62

Why Has Sony F886 Been Discontinued ? Will There Be a Replacement ?
Hmmm... looking less good than the F886 ! No EQ, no Wifi / Android / no ANC... by the looks of it. We need something better - or as good with removable battery and SD card slot. The wait continues.- Gabe62

Why Has Sony F886 Been Discontinued ? Will There Be a Replacement ?
Amazon... can't buy any more. Still on sony site though. I hope they bring one out in the 300-350 range. F886 seems to have issues - but then again, no micro card or replaceable battery in the flagship model is rather worrying. £550 and can't swap out batteries... Huh ? Really ?! So, I...- Gabe62

Why Has Sony F886 Been Discontinued ? Will There Be a Replacement ?
Massive hole in their range now ... don't understand why it's been shelved when it only came out a year ago. I'm wondering if anything new is likely to arrive to fill the gap between ultra-cheap, and stoopidly expensive £550 model. Anyone in the know ?- Gabe62

Looking for Amplifier or Receiver To Improve Streamed Music from PS3
Hi all, Can't find a decent affordable MP3 player with WiFi... and a EQ capability. So was wondering if a receiver-type box could do the job. Needs to accept optical-in and have a decent headphone-out socket, and of course decent EQ capability. Anyone know of what I should be...- Gabe62

Looking for Wi-Fi Enabled MP3 Player - alternative to F886
Hi all, Ok, it seems the F886 from Sony has been discontinued, and I have heard problems about volume level and dodgy build quality, and of course low battery life. I can't afford over £500 for the ZX1 (?), so am looking for a player that has WiFi as standard, so I can stream Sony Music...- Gabe62

NEW! Bose QC25 2014
Well i may be referring to the incorrect term: by poles I meant the rings on the spline of the jack. On the standard 3mm there are 2 ( 1 for each channel), on the 2.5 mm BOSE jack, there are 3... 2 for the channels and 1 for the microphone / device controller (as in the QC25, there is only 1...- Gabe62

NEW! Bose QC25 2014
Sound is pretty much the same - NC is way better - especially high frequency (TV, babies screaming and seagulls !), and they are more comfy. Pleased with purchase, although these are going back as balance has gone out of whack !!! ??? So, hopefully it's just the pair I got, and not a...- Gabe62

NEW! Bose QC25 2014
They benefit a lot from a half-decent amp. I use a Fiio E17 and crank up the gain and bass, and reduce the treble. Much better... especially with music. My problem is that the balance is shifted to the left by around 6 db... can't cope with uneven volume so, mine are going back tomorrow for...- Gabe62

NEW! Bose QC25 2014
Not quite unfortunately... yo need the 3.5 to 2.5mm cable which are quite rare... and the one I tried only had 2 poles and was shorter than the original, and as such keeps cutting out. So, you either try a myriad of cable options in the hope they fit, or make do.- Gabe62

Where to Buy Narrow Barrelled 3.5mm Audio Cables ?
Looking for standard 3.mm audio cable replacement for the new BOSE QC25s, but can't find any, as quite simply I don't know what they're called. Although they are "Standard" 3.5mm plugs, the end that attaches to the headset is actually a long (25mm) and very thin (5mm) barrel. Help anyone...- Gabe62

NEW! Bose QC25 2014
Just got them, 3 days from Belgium to UK. Ok, so compared to the QC15s: PROS: 1. Better build quality - arms, pivot joints and cups - but see Cons ! Joints especially, look very metal and substantial - I feel better about touching them now. 2. Better fit - slightly more roomy and...- Gabe62

NEW! Bose QC25 2014
Good to know a standard 3rd party cable can be used ! How is the battery compartment - still plasticky with a spring that cost less than the one in a 99 cent flashlight ? As for Android, they reckon Kitty-Kat is as good as the iOS anyhow. I'm after the new Moto G2 - £150 for a 5"...- Gabe62

Bravo on so many posts... I've made around 6 ! Good info., makes me feel better about my pre-order ! Improvements are good. 8-) But I certainly hope the cable will work on a normal mp3 player, as I don't own - nor ever will - own an "i" anything ! As for alternatives to BOSE, I think...- Gabe62

NEW! Bose QC25 2014
Without wishing to bang on too much, I'd love to see a manufacturer take the risk and make ANC phones of the audiophile quality, with a stellar design with built in ANC... purely aimed at the home-user. I understand WHY they won't, as they think that ANC only appeals to the mainly-portable...- Gabe62
