The new IEM of Vsonic VSD 3S ( impression updated by smailbz)

With all the recent issues in qc, I would rather get an ipod touch. Mine had infinity battery life and zero lag. The only downside is Itunes ... Funny because they're a chinese company. Are you affiliated with vsonic?

My foam tips do not stay when I pinch them and on one side some of the sponge is almost coming off the plastic tubing. The other tips don't fit me as well as the foams

You Know You're an Audiophile When.. Version 2!

This is what I don't like about audio stores. I would rather get it from some place with a hassle free return policy and do the testing at home.

Has not happened to me yet. I've put mine through quite a bit of abuse.

    Grado SR80 Impressions thread!

I run my sr80 out of my note 3 with no problems. They are very easy to power due to their low impedance and high sensitivity. I can get to a very high volume without any clipping. I have also used them with a little dot 2+ amp which made the highs mellower but with something like the E7, I...

My hf5 lasted 2 years~ before the cables frayed. Great build quality otherwise. I got them at a slight discount from amazon for around $99.

You Know You're an Audiophile When.. Version 2!

Nice. For me to hear anything in that high range I would have to turn the volume up way high and even when there's not much else going on in the background the sound is pretty faint. I boost the frequencies up on my equalizer. The automatic gain protection lowers the preamp level whenever the...

New toy syndrome, new mod syndrome, sighted listening test flaws etc. But who cares if it sounds better to you (whether real or imagined) since it cost next to nothing to make :) YKY(aren't)AAW you use an equalizer and your phone is your dap :(

You Know You're an Audiophile When.. Version 2!

Silver sounds bright, copper increases bass and what have you. These are the general "signatures" of the materials used, according to the cable pushers. I guess you can start by comparing a silver cable and the stock cable for any differences. And then go from there. We should be testing if...

The Deals DISCUSSION Thread (READ THE FIRST POST!!!)

You could've said that earlier and avoided this. I misinterpreted your post as being judgemental, even condescending, as well, even though flipping is against forum rules.

You Know You're an Audiophile When.. Version 2!

You can start off with 2 cables first so startup budget shouldn't leave you on an instant noodle diet. Some cables are touted to have a "night and day" effect on the sound, so I really don't know why no one has ever done dbts... Personally I don't doubt there are measured differences between...

All they want is for people to prove them wrong, with proper double blind testing. So go ahead man

There is a bit of a lag when using the eq sliders, like the changes take half a sec to reflect... enough to make me stick to neutron for now. Why can't they make an 8 band parametric eq for android :(

    Skeptico Saloon: An Objectivist Joint

So more power = louder for a given sensitivity and impedance rating, regardless of type of driver? (Planar, dynamic, BA)

    Skeptico Saloon: An Objectivist Joint

Hey guys, I've seen people say planars benefit from more power, as compared to a dynamic headphone which may actually have a lower sensitivity. Isn't the power supplied by the amp enough as long as audio is not clipping? What are these "benefits"? I'm running my sr80 and hfi580 out of my...

Anyone know how I can connect my headphones (3.5mm) to my ps4? The ps4 only has usb/hdmi ports I believe. Right now I'm plugging them into the controller which works via bluetooth.

I use neutron player for android. It has a setting that will lower the preamp if the audio reaches clipping levels. I eq up, not down

You Know You're an Audiophile When.. Version 2!

You would expect the cables to be easily identified in a dbt going by the reviews but I don't think anyone has done any proper testing to shut the "science guys" up for good. Not expecting any sq differences does not make you immune to any expectation biases. Case in point - guy did not expect...
