Melodious MX-U8 USB Interface 8 Core XMOS chip
Thank you. After testing ES9018 and another ES9018K2M diyinhk boards, the next logical step would be to give a chance to the AK4495SEQ or AK4490EQ. They seems to be the best DAC chips of the delta-sigma world. Or continue with the tempting Soekris distcrete R2R DAC. But I have changed my...- Abra

You are rigth, google search like "LT3042 diyinhk" directed me to another page of the topic. Thank you for the link. I also like the sound of Cree schottkies as diode bridge, but I used them in high voltage tube circuit. In low voltage applications old Motorola MBR ones are also appropriate...- Abra

I have got the info from a card owner in private msg. Before purchasing this board with tempting parameters (the chip at least), I'm curious if anybody can confirm or confute? Is it a unique or a common feature of the boards?- Abra

I have got a warning not using the diyinhk LT3032 board: "i would not recommend you diyinhk LT3042 0.8uV. After researching was revealed that it has congenital defect made by diyinhk. The high freq noise on Mhz area is spreading around everything and no possibility to fix it without removing...- Abra

Does anyone have Bendix 5R4WGB (potato masher) datasheet? I have a Tungsol 5R4WGB datasheet only, but as far as I know the Bendix has 5V / 3A heater instead of the normal 5V / 2A heater. Maybe other differencies also exist.- Abra

What an interesting coincidence. One small complaint I just had the little sound stage in relation to the Amber. Perhaps a better diode that will help a bit? I know, they are different performer, but why not?- Abra

Sorry, I have no "previous" DAC to compare it directly. This is my first USB DAC. I have analog inputs to compare, turntable and tuner. But you gave me an idea. I will compare the difference between a local radio station using an FM tuner and the same station streamed from the internet.- Abra

I was lucky enough to find a "used" Amber DAC for sale 150 km near to my home. I'm not the guy who buy hifi without personal listening. The "used" means it was almost one month old. It's a very new product even here in Europe. I had listened it with my Stax HP (it has an own headamp), with my...- Abra

Ifi, thank you for the information. But ... I have got a micro iDSD + iUSB + GEMINI for a five day trial period. And I have to say, I was not very impressed by the iDSD as a stand-alone DAC in my home stereo system. It was not especially bad, but replacing it's preamp with my system's pre, and...- Abra
