LG V20 Sound Quality
Not sure if it's been mentioned, but the PowerAmp V3 beta has been released. It's still missing a lot of features, but seems to be good otherwise. Most importantly: it seems to support Hi-Res output properly (at least 192kHz/24 bit mode shows as active) - does this mean it throughputs audio...- Fadem

NEW 2015 - HIFIMAN HE400S
Massdrop is dropping the new HE4XX in collaboration with HiFiMAN tomorrow at US$169. The exact driver it will incorporate is unknown and neither HiFiMAN nor Massdrop are willing to disclose this information. But it is likely the HE400i, given that the given impedance and sensitivity match...- Fadem

The Fragrant Zither (TFZ) Reviews and Impressions Thread
This reminds me a lot of the tape mod on the IE80, although I don't feel the need to use this on the Exclusive 5; its bass boost doesn't extend as far into the mids as the IE80s does.- Fadem

LG V20 Sound Quality
The LG V20s / LG V34 European edition is finally a reality with the introduction of the LG Q8: a 5.2" water-resistant non-removable battery mini V20 for the European market. Though its introduction price is higher than webstores sell the G6 for now... More info here- Fadem

Headphone Driver Lottery?
According to some it is due to the headphone drivers breaking in. My personal take on this case is not the drivers that break in, but the earpads of your new AD900x. Try pushing the headphone towards your ears in order to emulate more worn earpads. I think you'll find the bass will increase...- Fadem

LG V20 Sound Quality
I received my HD6xx today and decided to try it with the LG V20 for fun since it terminates in a 3.5mm jack (don't worry, I won't use it as a mobile headphone). I have to say it doesn't do a good job - it recognizes the high impedance device connected to it, but the output is severely lacking...- Fadem

Basslet: Wearable subwoofer for your body.
I got mine in today. Have to say I have mixed feelings about them, here's my initial impressions. Pros: The bass is very accurately reproduced on the wristband Adjustability of the bass amplitude is nice, but the lowest bass settings are barely perceptible Tacticle bass sensation adds a... -

LG V20 Sound Quality
I'm not sure if it's been mentioned, but the latest rumors are that the LG V20 will not come to Europe. However, it seems that the Japanese version of the LG V20, the LG V34 Isai Beat will be rebranded as the V20S. There are some differences between the V34 and the regular V20, namely it's...- Fadem

Headphone Sightings 2
Saw a guy in the supermarket a couple of days ago with recabled Sennheiser HD-25-1 II - which I thought had a right-side cable entry into the headphones, so either this person was wearing them backwards or I am plain wrong.- Fadem

Headphone Sightings 2
Yesterday on the train I saw a guy with Sennheiser IE80s with a non-stock cable. It appeared to be a braided red cable, but I couldn't see from up close. First IE80 I've seen in the wild other than my own!- Fadem

Just got DUNU DN-1000s, looking for a replacement.
The IM02 is said to be fairly neutral sounding. If you're looking for the bassier IEMs in the ATH-IMxx line-up I would take a look at the IM70 or IM50, they're bass and mid-centric - but if you need more treble you can take the filters out. They're way below your budgetary requirements though...- Fadem

Sony MDR MA900 Impressions Thread
Whatever bass boost feature/EQ you end up using, the MA900 will never do well in the lower bass regions. For gaming I use an E17k with the bass boost to +10 and it sounds quite nice, not so much for music listening - where the lack of sub-bass is really noticeable and a mid-bass hump is...- Fadem

Most comfortable and lightweight over the ear headphones?
Comfort is highly subjective. Though, if you don't mind open-back headphones (definitely not noise cancelling!), the Sony MDR MA900 springs to mind.- Fadem
