I use the HPA-1 with Sennheiser HD800s and the Pass has only 200 mW on tap when the load is 300 ohm. Sometime, with most dynamic / uncompressed recordings, I have to crank up the volume to 3/4 to get to the sound level I want, so my guess is that Pass may not be a great match for less sensitive...
