Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
May I know how to use the bnc inputs, I’ve owned the qutest for a few years now and have yet to try the bnc inputs. If possible please direct me to products I can look into? Currently using Roon and in the process of updating the endpoint to connect to the qutest but curiously I have no idea...- ddaktiv

☯️ CAVALLI AUDIO ➜ Liquid Carbon Final Production Run!
You could say that, but try it with a good dac with balanced output, the result is magical :) I've tried it with mojo and the sound stage is smaller. I love my mojo to bits but hooked up to a good balanced output dac (Simaudio Moon, in this case) the separation of the instruments are really...- ddaktiv

Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆
Also wondering about this, but won't it trap the heat more? I've custom made a case but found even an airy material shortens the mojo's playtime due to the heat..one way I've played the mojo longer was using a portable fan as a base haha it's noisy as heck but with in ears you don't hear the fan...- ddaktiv

Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆
It's audibly better for me but certain factors has to be in place. 1. Your source has to be recorded in stereo (this I've heard personally on a Beatles and beach boys album) and the imaging is superb. 2. Noise floor is almost mute for most cases in balanced mode. 3. Impact is better as the...- ddaktiv

Does this mean it's not really limited to 500 pieces? I went and ordered too thinking it's the last batch.. didn't expect a local retailer to carry one at a cheaper price.- ddaktiv

REVIEW: Unique Melody Merlin - hybrid dynamic/balanced armature custom IEM
Never noticed any harshness from my songs thus far but the quality, depth, and punch is so much better w an 8 core silver than a 4-core version. With gold and silver I found its more like an improved copper version, so still like the silvers better..ymmv though it's a very subjective matter :)...- ddaktiv

So I've been trying to download songs from my Spotify playlist but I get an error saying memory is full. I've since cleared my zx2 to make way for Spotify but I still get the same message. Under storage it seems there's 3 memory banks? The app storage, system storage and sd card? What gives...- ddaktiv

Thanks! So far, I'm running balanced on zx2 for mobile use and paired w Cypherlabs Duet has been very good for me with Ciems for long hours at work.. I add the mojo in between for LCD2 duties as it seems more powerful and cleaner sounding that way..- ddaktiv

What do you pair it with? :) is it all its hyped up to be? It's taking forever for the second batch to ship out but currently I've got Duet (balanced) paired w my zx2 for long hours and I'm wondering how much better a cavalli desktop setup would be..- ddaktiv

Haha I know it's a flame magnet, but what's the point of having these gears when we can't experiment Just because of the common consensus? :) What was Sony thinking when they came up with all these sound adjustments surround settings anyway? :) Trying to keep an open mind here as maybe I missed...- ddaktiv

Guys! For those of you who's never used the "surround sound" under sound adjustment settings (as it really sounds sucky..) Try it with an amp in balanced mode. Just for fun, decided to try it out just now and it doesn't sound half as bad as going amp-less. Surprisingly, doesn't sound so...- ddaktiv

Haha it is very old school :) it's also akward as they're all different sized.. Plus a cable too short would generate heat for the mojo as it won't have enough ventilation.. I usually just stack either zx2-mojo or zx2-duet for balanced..- ddaktiv

Hey Whitigir, interested in your view over pha-3 vs cypherlabs duet. Wondering if you've been able to compare their balanced outputs? I haven't tried the pha-3 but I have the Duet, and I do love it balanced but I have tried stacking it w zx2-mojo-duet and seems redundant I know but there seems...- ddaktiv

Mojo is warmer and better for me. They say separation is better for Hugo but mojo has newer improved innards and so far it's very addictive. For times I don't have it paired w the zx2, I use balanced cables but there's a sharp crisp distinction of notes no dap can match mojo yet. Add silver...- ddaktiv

I don't think there are any major advantages aside from weight=comfort. Timber density and elasticity counts for durability and any sonic advantages would be similar given they're sanded and polished the same way unless resins are involved. There's too little room for reverberation to be...- ddaktiv

I have the same issues but I suspect it's the wifi signal dropping and I just press play again. Even w a strong signal it could be interferences that cause it to drop. Just my suspicion.- ddaktiv
