Sennheiser Momentum impressions thread
How recessed is the treble? I'm trying to choose between this and MDR1R. I liked how momentum has well extended bass on FR graph but saw treble is kind of recessed. Also, is this comparable to hd600?- hotchocolate

cannot decide if I need dac/amp or not
Yeah I saw that FR graph for hd600 before. Thats why I'm wondering why I hear strong bass. DSP I can check has no bass enhancement or any eq. How firm are the earpads when they're new? Also, so even if I buy an amp like lets say crack, as long as I dont have different dac, there won't be much...- hotchocolate

cannot decide if I need dac/amp or not
Hi everyone, please excuse me as this is kind of going to be a long post. I recently bought a new hd600 as an upgrade from my m50x/hm5. I wanted to see how it does with my on-board audio on z87 extreme4 motherboard before deciding whether I need dac/amp or not. Well, I don't hear any noise...- hotchocolate

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
I'm thinking of buying odac/o2 for hd600. Since odac/o2 is considered somewhat bright, would I experience treble fatigue with it?- hotchocolate

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
Hey everyone, I recently bought a new HD600 and am wondering why they sound so bassy (since most ppl seem to think these are neutral phones). Compared to my HM5, which almost sounds like they have recessed bass, hd600 sometimes has overbearing sub-bass. Does anyone know if sennheiser changed...- hotchocolate

hd600 bass (on-board audio may be too warm)?
Yeah I guess I'm used to HM5's barely audible sub/bass. I think I expected less bass from hd600 based on what I read. People seemed to think hd600 lacks bass and recommended hd650, which I don't understand now. I guess everyone has different taste in what is too much bass :P- hotchocolate

hd600 bass (on-board audio may be too warm)?
Wow... thanks for the detailed post :o So I tried foobar/media monkey/windows player and it sounds the same imo. I'm fairly sure it's hd600 since my hm5 (which is considered neutral) sounds bass shy with same source. Can burning in hp with bass heavy music make hp more bassy? Also, ppl...- hotchocolate

hd600 bass (on-board audio may be too warm)?
I'm just playing 320kbps/16bit44khz on VLC (no eq). I don't think volume is problem since I can listen to HD600 at my normal listening level (windows volume 15~20). I never used a dac/amp before so I'm not sure how it works. I think it goes like input -> dac line out -> amp -> headphones...- hotchocolate

hd600 bass (on-board audio may be too warm)?
Thanks I'll keep that in mind :) I was looking for dac/amp and came across ODAC/O2. Is crack better (it looks difficult imo)?- hotchocolate

hd600 bass (on-board audio may be too warm)?
I bought it new on Amazon so I don't think ear pad's the issue. I'm gonna try stretching it. Would I gain more sq with better dac/amp? I don't hear any noise with my mobo currently.- hotchocolate

hd600 bass (on-board audio may be too warm)?
Finally bought HD600 after going through M50x, HM5, and SRH940. I have to say I'm very impressed by its sq and especially comfort. But I hear a lot of bass on it, almost as much as M50x. Did HD600 change driver to be more bassy or maybe my source...- hotchocolate

upgrade from M50x
Hey everyone, I'm trying to upgrade from my M50x to more hifi headphones. My budget is $400 (can go over somewhat) and I'm looking for one with neutral sound and wide soundstage. Also, should I get DAP or DAC/amp? Is one better sounding than other? Thanks!- hotchocolate
