HiBy R6 III (Gen 3) Android digital audio player, Dual ES9038Q2M, Class A / AB amplification switch, Snapdragon 665, Open Android 12 OS, DSD512 / PCM768
Another question... I want to use the Hiby with a set of Sennheiser HD650's - which port should I use? Do I need a convertor for 6.35mm > 4.4mm? Can anyone link me to the right one?- 8bitBarry

HiBy R6 III (Gen 3) Android digital audio player, Dual ES9038Q2M, Class A / AB amplification switch, Snapdragon 665, Open Android 12 OS, DSD512 / PCM768
Yes I have to say I am really enjoying the Hiby R6 III and the Fiio FH9 IEM's. I still really enjoy the Airpod Pro's on the move (which I do a fair bit for work), as the noise cancelling is so bloody good. I parked the Hiby / Fiio as the iPhone / Spotify / Airpods is so convenient and they're...- 8bitBarry

I try to avoid leather as a vegetarian for 40years, so that’s really good to read. On the Hiby site It still checks out saying it’s leather, so I’m glad I have a user perspective as I’m desperate to dump the god awful clear plastic one!- 8bitBarry

Other things that need changing IMO, or if you know how to fix it please reply - (I hope Hiby read this but you never know) 1. When charging the battery symbol (on a dark background) is bright white with small GREEN text, so it's really hard to read if you need glasses especially). An animated...- 8bitBarry

My thought entirely. I own electronic musical equipment with manuals that are SO bad it makes you wonder how companies look at themselves in the mirror.- 8bitBarry

Thank you - in the end out of total frustration I held all the buttons and about 15secs later it reset. Thanks for letting me and everyone else know the combination.- 8bitBarry

Completely frozen - can’t turn off, no length of time holding the power or any buttons will reset it. I’ve just got to let it go flat or something. All I was doing was opening Spotify whilst the HiBy app was playing… not good- 8bitBarry

Problems I am having with the R6 III - Never tells the right time or date. - System Update keeps telling me I am up to date on 1.10 - then after three tries it connects and updates to 1.11. Finally got to 1.20.... so all good but jeez - Double tapping the screen to wake often doesn't work at...- 8bitBarry

IEM Stereo Field Balance and Your Hearing
Do you find yourself taking quite a while to settle in with IEM ear placement? It was a twitchy experience at the start for me, constantly trying to reseat them for perfect balance. Ever since I bought a pair of Fiio FH5s Pro (returned) and then the FH9's (definitely staying) I am now...- 8bitBarry

I can help you out with this, because I’m exactly the same. I’ve come from listening to music on an iPhone and a ten year old Fiio X5, and it’s also my first Android experience. The Hiby at its heart is an extremely competent music player. The audio quality from FLAC files and WAV files is...- 8bitBarry

Date and Time - every time I shutdown the R6 the date and time reset to Dec 8th 2022, random time. I’ve reset it twice already. Any ideas?- 8bitBarry

Q. Is there any way of disabling the coloured LED on the side? Last night listening in bed I had to bury it in the duvet as it’s rather bright indeed… I’m also finding the silicon case is pretty poor. The thickness of it at the top makes the volume dial really hard to access. I have to use my...- 8bitBarry

Got my HiBy R6 Gen 3 today and very impressed. It's a marked step up from my 2014 Fiio X5mk1. One notable difference is how even with Spotify set to 'very high' quality, it sounds pretty poor compared to the huge sound stage from files stored in FLAC on a memory card. To think this was the...- 8bitBarry

Where can I buy a decent case for the R6 III here in the UK? Amazon only seems to have the smoked plastic one which doesn’t look great… I’m excited about getting the R6 III and hope to buy it this week. I recently bought some Fiio FH9 IEMs for use with my aging 2014 Fiio X5, but the battery is...- 8bitBarry

Thinking of returning Little Dot mk2...
I have been using a Little DOt 1+ with my Grado 325is headphones and I am in heaven. Got me some Voskhod tubes and the sound is sublime. I also have a set of HD650's, bought for my music studio, but its a back seat head-fi listen, really quite uninteresting. I thought this was an impedance...- 8bitBarry

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide
OK Tube rolling I get. There is distinct differences between the sound of valves in my Little Dot 1+.
