Haha sorry this post is useless now, I just fixed it. If anyone is curious there is a program called dpclat that analyzes your audio stream. Mine was massively messed up and it happened to be a program called easytune6 that comes with gigabyte motherboards.

Don't give up soda just train yourself to like diet soda. There's really nothing wrong with diet soda except for the caffeine and if that's too much for you there is caffeine free diet coke. Diet soda >> water taste wise.

I've never done it, but I believe it goes R+ = R, L+ = L, both - = G. The ground pin on the 3 pin XLR is most likely connected to nothing.

I've heard a lot of phones and AD2000s are something special in my opinion. I've never heard the ad900s though :-/. If you get the AD2000s you could always sell them on head-fi for minimal loss.
