I was thinking about getting the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 as an upgrade to my Momentum 1.0, is it worth it?

As I said I have a pair of Sennheiser Momentums. The input is 2.5mm but there is a locking system. Realistically I am wondering whether it is possible to put a 2.5mm male to 3.5mm female adapter such as CLICK HERE on my headphones? Is there a way around the locking system for more freedom of use...

I can't use things such as the V-Moda boompro not only because of the lock mechanism but also the fact that the input for the headphones is a tad smaller than 3.5mm and so is unique for the Momentum headphone. Is there another mic I can somehow incorporate to use instead of the in-cable one?
