LCD-X and XC Update
Anyone know if the dimensions of the pads changed with the revision? Curious about ear opening size and front to back depth.- Roy Mustang

Sennheiser HD800 S Impressions Thread (read first post for summary)
I definitely feel this. I went though a lot of hoops making them comfortable for myself. Made a custom headband mod, loosened the clamp on the metal band, and swapped to lighter more flexible cables. More comfortable for me than just about anything, but the empyrean.- Roy Mustang

ZMF Classic MK3 - discussion and impressions
Awesome thanks a ton. First, how does the treble quantity and quality compare between the two? Second, how would you rank their comparative comfort?- Roy Mustang

Thanks. To me the HD 800 family was just soo far off in stock tuning compared to my preferences that I couldn't listen to it. After a journey through all the variants, and piles of amps/dacs, I finally tried EQ with it and it was nothing short of transformative. Even if someone isn't normally a...- Roy Mustang

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Anyone else here try the new HM5 Suede Pads on the HD650/6XX and if so what do you think? I've got a pair mounted on one of my HD650's (have 3 of em) and I think I might actually prefer it to the stock pads (with a little eq). The comfort bonus is nothing short of wonderful. Side note they...- Roy Mustang

Audeze LCD-2C Classic - Impressions Thread
Before I switched to the RME ADI-2 DAC (at work and home) I ran the 2c from the el amp at work with no problems (huge fan of JDS labs). I'm generally in the clean source, clean amp, flavor with eq camp. I thought it was an excellent combination. I wasn't able to detect any detriments to the...- Roy Mustang

ZMF Classic MK3 - discussion and impressions
I just wanted to drop some praise for these things here. I got them as comfort pair for work, but when they arrived the tore through my collection with a vengeance. Without EQ, to me, they best everything I have. Anyone have experience with these in comparison to any of Zach's dynamic lineup? I...- Roy Mustang

Audeze LCD-2C Classic - Impressions Thread
Hi all. I've got a two comfort questions. I generally wear these puppies to the tune of 50+ hours a week so I've been routinely chopping bits off my headband off due to stretching. Has anyone come up with a better way to handle this? (different headband or some fancy mod that allows more space)...- Roy Mustang

Which iem for under £300?
The fit is generally super hit or miss with the ety. Unfortunately, when it's miss they are unwearable not just uncomfortable (for me they ended up being the most comfortable iems universal or custom, go figure). If you ever want to try them in the future you can get a small sense of what the...- Roy Mustang

Which iem for under £300?
For my personal preference it has just the right amount of bass. It is boosted but tastefully so. Of everything I've tried headphones and iems it is one of the rare exceptions I don't apply any eq on. For long listening sessions of 8-12 hours I find the tonality very non-offensive. My general...- Roy Mustang

Which iem for under £300?
If you can audition them the Sony XBA-N3AP might fit the bill. It has excellent tonality with healthy bass, good mids, and smooth treble. My personal favorite under 300 is the Ety ER3XR which is a slight warm tilt on neutral with relaxed highs. (The fit is love it or hate it though)- Roy Mustang

Best "dark" sounding high end headphone?
+1 with the Argon one of my favorite T50RP mods. I might add the ZMF Classic into the mix if you aren't planning on EQing to me it has a touch less bass than the Argon (still a ton) and a little sweeter treble. If EQ is on the table the Audeze LCD-2C might be what you are looking for as it...- Roy Mustang

Focal Clear headphones
Would any clear owners be able to do me a favor. I am interested in purchasing a pair of these headphones, but I physically can't have the driver making contact with the middle of my ear for medical reasons. Could someone measure the depth of the pad to the driver while mounted or the pad off...- Roy Mustang

MrSpeakers AEON Flow Open - Impressions Thread
Thanks, the Audeze were on the shakiest ground anyway. Comfort is a big part of the equation for me as I normally average 50 hours a week with headphones on. When I tried to own the LCD-3 they kind of felt like wearing a bowling ball on my head.- Roy Mustang

MrSpeakers AEON Flow Open - Impressions Thread
Hi I'm a longtime enthusiast and this is my first post. I recently gutted most of my collection (several HD800s, a Beyer T1(1st gen), and my SR-009) after finally trying the Audioquest Nighthawks (about 2500 hours listening in on them) and I was looking for more headphones with that type of...- Roy Mustang
