  Sorry for my newbness, but isn't it a 5.0mm to 5.0mm cable? Both of my jacks (Macbook Pro/HDP) have 3.5mm. Will the cables you've mentioned above fit?

Okay now I understand. Thank you for the help. My AUX cable is decent I believe, as it came as part of my HDP.

  Hmm... forgive my lack of knowledge in the audiophile world. Why won't the AUX cables not make a difference in outputting the sound from   DAC to Amp? Aren't there more options of outputting the DAC sound to the Amp?

Yes   edit: I had two cables for the HDP, and I tried both of them.
