M50X sound signature is completely different from Hybrid Pro HD. It's closer to KZ ATR's.

I had to bump the bass on my FiiO A5 when I connect the Xiaomi Hybrid Pro HD.

I am inserting these as far as I can, so the bass is somewhat ok (but I still prefer to EQ it), but the highs are still harsh and I think there is not much resolution in highs too. It's loosing the detail... 

I am interested. Looking forward for a date to be announced. Hopefully it will be saturday ;)

Now I am pissed off and confused. The ones I've bought are from gearbest and there were some posts before, suggesting these are the HD's.

They just arrived yesterday to me, and my ootb impressions are somewhat similar to @fonkepala Bass is clean, but mids sound strange. A bit recessed, muddy? Treble is neutral, but quite a lot of detail in it. The 8-9kHz area is bumped-up a bit, all kind of cymbals sound a little harsh. I hope...

Didn't had the E12 so I can't compare. You might be right, but none the less the A5 operates pretty nice to me ;)

The volume knob on A5 isn't slippery at all. It have this nice facture and resistance so it operates very smoothly and accurately.

Hopefully there will be something going on :)

Actually an iPhone's battery is pretty good. I listen to music (mostly on 3/4th or higher volume) from my 6s+ and it barely consumes the energy. What consumes the energy faster is it's internal speaker.   I also prefer to have just one device (but still, I have additional amp which is already...

So my first thought is, it's actually a bit warm. But the higher the volume, the sound is becoming cleaner, brighter. It's loud!

So after your explanation, the A5 bass will be better for me. For you maybe not. That's called personal preference.
