Going back to the drop outs. I said upstream that they had pretty much stopped happening for me, but they came back with a vengeance last night when I was on a 30 min walk. Drop outs occurring at least once a minute so that's quite a lot in 30 mins! Got back and checked Bluetooth battery status...

After I did the FW update the playback for me using Roon Ready is absolutely fine. As far as I know the R9 has always shown as an R7 in Roon and needs to be temporarily renamed as R9 until Roon make the R9 Roon Ready.

USB mode with my Android phone would not work out the box for me. Had to update the FW before it worked.

From the Roon forum "In Roon, go to Settings, then Audio. In the Roon Ready section you will see FiiO R7 (even though you actually have an R9). Once you enable it there will be a box where you can call the R7 (as Roon identifies it) anything you like - in my case I just named it R9temp."

Hi @FiiO. Recently Roon published their regular monthly Partner's update showing devices that have been made Roon Ready. We are still waiting for R9 to be made Roon Ready. Will this ever happen or will we just need to rename the R7 forever?

I find the higher the setting the the worse it is. At 65 it is like a bull in a china shop, but with the setting down at 12 I could tell that as soon as I touched the pod it seemed much more sedate. It's probably just me. ps -Sorry about the crap analogies!!

Perhaps my post could have been better worded. My setting was at 65, which I presume is default?? Yesterday via the GAIA app I reduced it to 12ms, and as I said in my post I had no issues the first time I used the Go Pods with touch controls re-enabled. I have used the Go Pods twice since and...

Better yes, but I wonder if they can be tweaked in future to be less sensitive for those who want to use them.

This has come back for me even though it appeared to have been sorted by the latest FW release. Anybody else? It should be coincidental, but tonight was the first time I have used the R9 in a couple of weeks.
