Few times Rob is way off mark. I have 2 decent speaker systems w/ Qutest, in both systems upgrading the PSU was a moderate to significant improvement. Above poster is right a Qutest w/ a decent PSU competes w/ the TT2 in sonics.

I see so I guess preamp does not have single ended inputs. I use Qutest w/ Jeff Rowland integrated w/c is fully differentially balanced design would be interesting if this approach performs better than simple RCA connection.

I don’t think that adapter will even fit the Qutest the pair of RCA plugs too close together.

A Qutest w/ a synergistic power supply like Sbooster or IFI Elite probably is fairly close in performance vs a TT2 in pure DAC function so I suspect not so much an upgrade. I also have been using since the beginning so over 5 years and to me my best chance of a genuine upgrade w/o going over $5K...

In my experience an affordable reclocker like a W4S Recovery or ISO regen improved sonics between an Aurender and Qutest when using usb cable like Curious. So does when using DDC like entry level Singxer. But when I use reference level usb cable these active devices actually subtract from results.

I have systems using DDCs and reclockers but my top speaker rigs do not, just real good USB cable. Have to admit using these active devices can give good improvement at less money.

I also have an N150 feeding Qutest DAC. I would suggest invest in good quality USB cable you can get outstanding result.

Have the Elite w/ Qutest on two speaker systems, no buzz. In both the Elite gave a quieter and more robust presentation vs stock. Both systems use Shunyata PLC, one a Denali and the other a Triton.

Not sure but I am using a Shunyata Denali V2 w/c would block whatever noise the IFI could throw back. Did not try it w/o a PLC. Others have reported quite positive results of Qutest - Elite combo.

In my case the IFI Elite gave a quieter and more robust presentation. I think the more popular option is an Sbooster w/c I wanted to compare but did not get a chance. The IFI Elite was more readily available where I am. The Qutest is now 6 years old it is likely Chord has something in the works...

Hi Christer, did you get a chance to hear the Qutest w/ a real good PSU? I have two Qutests both using IFI Elite PSU and found it to be a significant improvement. Interested to hear what you think how this compares w/ Qutest w/ msacaler.
