I've only used my IEMs single ended with the Midgard but they work beautifully. That said I only have the Truthear Zero Reds so my experience is somewhat limited. 🙃

I think it requires a mod, but I believe the DT 1990 can be converted to balanced. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I don't think you'll be disappointed! I really love my Modius/Midgard stack. Its nice they are the same form factor and both have the XLRs. Please let us know what you think once it arrives. :wink:

That's odd, mine doesn't do that. I'd email Schiit about it. In my experience they are very helpful, I suspect they'd replace your unit.

Is the XLR plug loose in the connector? Or is the connector loose on the board? I just looked at mine and it doesn't seem unusually loose in a way that made me flag it. It might wiggle a tiny bit but it doesn't seem off to me. Perhaps other units have better anchored XLR plugs, but I wouldn't...

It is not a true balanced out. However I don't believe that means it's safe to use an XLR adapter. Someone else may be able to speak to this better than me.

The Alps RK27 potentiometer on the Midgard has a 6mm shaft. So you should be looking for a knob that is either for a 6mm shaft or 1/4" shaft. 6mm = 0.24in for reference. You should be able to find a ton of options with a 1/4" hole. Have you tried tightening down the set screw on the existing knob?
