  I don't think that will work in DP-X1.   Try play a normal audio file with stock app, then play other audio file form 3rd party player, the stock app will just stop.

  Poweramp user here and yes, it's much louder than stock player. But I really like the SQ on Poweramp better. Some people comment I'm being ridiculous becoz Poweramp supposed do not have access to the extra DAC so I'm only listen to an Android. 

  Too bad long press on DP-X1 only allows you to change wallpaper, nothing else.   I only have stock player and Poweramp widgets, and I have 3 blank homescreen

  Yes, USB 3.0 provide more power from 2.0.    But it shouldn't be dramatic given that X5 is USB 2.0 only.

  That's what I thought before I buy X5. I thought I could put the E17 away but no. However, dont really care as long as it sounds great. :p

  This is extremely interesting! I am downloading and will soon found out if my brain is tricking me. 

  As I said, it's very subjective. It's just a feeling. I used the same track same volume, to listen to a period of around 1 mins of a FLAC file.   Basically, the "test environment" is set to be identical except for firmware.

OK, I just tried fw 2.2 and the sound is definitely different.   With 2.2, The sound stage is more narrowed, but it sounds somehow solid. With 2.0, The sound stage is more dynamic, more bass.   And of coz, sound quality is very subjective, some people might not agree with me.   However I...
