Don't know if you got the Japanese version or the EU. But it seems that the EU version is been limited in output.  I have the Japanese version with some IE8 and believe me when you put it to the max. your ears are bleeding.

Seems double helix has a nice fusion v2 hybrid cable but again no reviews to be found. Price is somehow acceptable for 340$. Looks very nice also. 8 weeks of waiting is a lot. But maybe it's worth it.

Did you use the "clearaudio+" future of the stock player? To compare? Because it's a big difference when you turn it off or on. Because when turned on poweramp doesn't even come close in my book. Using ie8 atm. Um Merlins are ordered.

Getting the JH16 out of the US to EU or order them in the UK (same deal but then they do it for you) will cost me 1650$ a pair of Merlin's will cost me 970$ so that a ******** big difference. So i think i will go for the merlin's, and buy a nice DAC/AMP for them. :-) 

What do you mean by veil? Since I don't speak English that well I don't know what it means. Also, what would you prefer for listening to EDM. The Merlins or the JH16? And which have the most "fun" signature for EDM?
