how to open AKG K-420 for Ear Pad replacement ?

you can try and remove it by pulling out the earpad by pinching it out from one corner and working your way around. You can also use a flathead screwdriver to pry out the first corner which i found to be easier to get it going, then remove it using fingers. There is very little elasticity in the...

I bought a pair just now after checking out your video. I figured it was a steal after they dropped the prices significantly on catchoftheday. With a drop in price and having a spare Bluetooth adapter lying around, I think this will make a nice poor mans BT throw-away headphones.   Thanks for...

Yamaha HPH-200 (Pictures and review) [Updated]

Haven't visited this thread for a while. As for the cracking sounds, I've not come across it yet. Also with regards to ear pads replacement I can confirm that the sony MDR-V150 (70mm) ear pads fit quite well (although not as comfortable).

Review by 'HarukaMizune' on item 'Sony MDR-V150 Monitor Series Headphones with Reversible Earcups'

Yamaha HPH-200 (Pictures and review) [Updated]

Thanks Darner, much appreciated. Coincidentally I did make a purchase of the sony MDR-V150 a few days ago lol. Even though I've read them to be kinda sucky on head-fi. They were my first ever pair of headphones when I was a little youngster. Held up pretty well till the cable broke way back...

Yamaha HPH-200 (Pictures and review) [Updated]

Has anyone figured out a suitable ear pad replacement? I would like to know whether the ear pads from the sennheiser HD-25 or the HD-414 would fit these. I haven't gained the confidence to take my ear pads apart yet. H.M

how to open AKG K-420 for Ear Pad replacement ?

I recently bought myself an akg-k420 recently for cheap on catchoftheday.com. The stock ear pads were relatively comfortable but after a few hours I needed to take a break from them. Just for some experimentation I did pull apart 1 of the ear pads, which is glued to a plastic O ring. The...

Review by 'HarukaMizune' on item 'Etymotic Research EtyKids Safe-Listening Headset'

I previously owned an Audio Technica ATH-ANC23 and found that although they sounded great, I didn't like the idea of having to replace the battery as well as the comply foam tips whenever they get grubby. I also didn't like the pressure that the ath-anc23 emits on my ears as it felt...
