    6922 Tube Review - 17 Top 6922 6N23P E88CC CCa 7308 E188CC tubes

Ah, well like I said no loss on the cost.  Based on that photo (very helpful, thank you), I did find the right one just got confused which was the correct one.  Should be arriving as well but not for 2 weeks.  Then again, that is if they are legit, fun of tubes sometimes from the Kremlin.   ...

    6922 Tube Review - 17 Top 6922 6N23P E88CC CCa 7308 E188CC tubes

So managed to find a Reflektor 6N23P from a seller in the US, should have it next week.  Had a silver logo, single wire up to the O-getter instead of the A-frame dimple disc, and looks similar to the photos.  Never know with Russian tubes though, but for the cost figured what the hell may as...

HIFIMAN Flagship Headphone HE1000 Beta Testing Opportunity Complete - Feel free to still comment

Way down on the list for the beta testing gravy train, but definitely interested.  Would like to see how they compare to say LCD3's and how they fair with some different tube options vs solid-state amplification.  My profile has details of current equipment, same for signature.   Would be more...

    6922 Tube Review - 17 Top 6922 6N23P E88CC CCa 7308 E188CC tubes

Finding information about dates is a pain.  I did find a page specifically about Brimar valves (which were Ediswan, Mazda, Thorn, AEI and one or two others I believe), but it didn't seem to cover the military codes, only the standards for ECC88/E88CC.     Based on the code on mine, it was...

    6922 Tube Review - 17 Top 6922 6N23P E88CC CCa 7308 E188CC tubes

Great thread, one to add and I am sure it is in one of the 6 pages here is the Ediswan CV2492, I found I enjoyed this tube more often than not over the CCa's, Amperex's/Valvo or Mullards.  I typically enjoy the 7308 variants than 6922's overall in my Decware though, but it could just be the amp...

Compared to what?   I don't use it for my headphones, it goes to my 2-channel setup.

    DNA Sonett Review

Well, only kept it for a few months, as it is going to fund a new amp purchase.  Figured I would post the link here in case anyone was interested in a balanced Sonett to add to their collection(s).  If it isn't "PC" to post the link in here, let me know and I will remove it.  ...

    Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-3

The WA7 does not have enough power to adequately drive the LCD3's to their fullest, you will end up with a thinner sound.  I tried them on a coworkers and did not care for it at all but that is all personnel taste, you may like the sound.    The WA22 would be the minimum from a Woo amp I would...

Dubstep Girl's Massive 5AR4/5R4/5U4G Rectifier Review/Comparison! (Rectifer Tube Rolling thread)

Spending 250+ hours of my musical listening experience in agony waiting for a tube to "burn-in" sounds like horror to me, may as well jab myself with forks.  I mean, I hope it sounds good after the fact, and judging by the couple of comments some of you seem to enjoy them, so from your...

Dubstep Girl's Massive 5AR4/5R4/5U4G Rectifier Review/Comparison! (Rectifer Tube Rolling thread)

You know, now that you note that, my GEC U52 has the original box and it states CV575 on it, so that makes sense.  Didn't even notice it before, never really looked at the box.  It also has the black base and inverted cup getter.

Dubstep Girl's Massive 5AR4/5R4/5U4G Rectifier Review/Comparison! (Rectifer Tube Rolling thread)

Only problem is it seems like a most conjecture post (granted so is this one somewhat).  Nobody there posted any links or referenced any documentation directly indicating what it really meant, just that apparently some guy named Steve knew.  Not discounting it, may be true, would just like to...

Oldest I have are my VT-99's, which are 1942 production.  Next oldest for me would probably be my RCA/JAN-CRC 6AS7G's, which have a 1947 date I believe it was but would need to look at the tube and the military stamp on the original box.    Although, I never checked the date codes of my USAF's...

Dubstep Girl's Massive 5AR4/5R4/5U4G Rectifier Review/Comparison! (Rectifer Tube Rolling thread)

I think you are correct regarding the getters, as mine are 1965 and 1967 dated, both have the O-getters.   Please note, I was speaking only about U52's, not GZ32's in regards to their base colors.  I know we have like 3 conversations going on at once here, lol.   Which your information may...

Here is what all of my CV593's look like for comparison.  Tried getting a picture of the getter but didn't seem to turn out well, but all have O getters.

Dubstep Girl's Massive 5AR4/5R4/5U4G Rectifier Review/Comparison! (Rectifer Tube Rolling thread)

Interesting tidbit, hadn't heard that one but U52 info is somewhat hard to find.  I do know my Marconi is older than my GEC based on the date codes, so who the hell knows.  Also know that various U52's depending on the age have different getter configurations too.  The preferred I have found...

Dubstep Girl's Massive 5AR4/5R4/5U4G Rectifier Review/Comparison! (Rectifer Tube Rolling thread)

My understanding in researching the U52 is that the curved brown bases were apparently made for audio applications where as the curved black bases were made for industrial usages, so are more ruggedized and may come off as a little less refined/granier when used in audio applications.  I can...

Dubstep Girl's Massive 5AR4/5R4/5U4G Rectifier Review/Comparison! (Rectifer Tube Rolling thread)

Sorry, I tend to write and speak very black & white (ie, bluntly), didn't mean for that to come off as rude or a bash.  You perhaps like the sound of the 6SN7's, I didn't care for most except the Tung-Sol's, so that may be our difference.  Musical preferences define the sounds we prefer; we may...
