To my understanding the volume could be all over the place. Depends on your rip. If tracks are ripped with replaygain enabled (e.g. with EAC) and then replaygain turned on in Rocbox the volume should be constant across all tracks ripped in such a fashion.   You are not suggesting that volume...

Cool. I'm not overly excited about album art either, probably only 10% of albums have it anyway, but that particular one had it, so it sort of raised a flag that something was amiss.

OK I might try to go without library update. Thanks.   The reason I did update was that my album art was missing and it was definitively there with stock FW before theme flash, so I assumed it was necessary to scan again to bring it back (which it did).

  Vorzuge Duo velcroed to DX90. Fits shirt pocket neatly.   Magic combo to my ears. Wish that DX90 battery lasted longer, it takes 3 re-charges until Vorzuge battery is low.

My Vorzuge is permanently attached to DX90. Audible improvement over HO output, mostly in dynamic range and instrument separation. Even more audible improvement paired with FiiO X5, but X5 is used standalone as true portable rig.    Definitely a keeper.   Cheers.   Volume pot position...
