I am thinking of pulling the trigger on the Adorama deal for this (for $699). It is odd their website says it is closed back. Surely that is a typo, right? Regardless, my DAC/AMP right now is the Chord Mojo. Do you think that enough power to drive the HE6-SE well?

The design on these is beyond ugly, IMHO. I just don't understand the design of these. Has to be one of the ugliest headphones I've ever seen, especially for a flagship. Edit: Actually, they look pretty good in the user photos in this thread, pictures where the lighting isn't so dark. Why did...

  People who buy $1,000 power cords are insane. Power cords will not make any noticeable improvement to sound, especially not a $1,000 worth. I don't understand why some people buy into the more nonsensical gimmicky hi-fi marketing fluff.

  Really? I bought my Pandora Hope VIs about a year and 2 months ago. Does that mean I already have the Type B pads? Anyone know how I can tell?

The Hope VI is leagues above the K7XX IMO. Much clearer, much better bass, much better soundstage, etc. etc. It isn't a fair comparison, really.    Maybe it's just my ears, but I was hugely disappointed with the K7XX. They sound like $100 headphones to me. 

Where the heck can I buy the Pandora Hope VI B earpads? I live i the US and none of the authorized US dealers from Final Audio's homepage appear to carry them. And Final Audio's US webpage only offers two products currently. 

Just saw that there are replacement earpads for the Hope VI that are supposed to help with the low end. Anyone tried the replacement pads that Final Audio sells for the Hope VI? Do they really improve the sound, specifically the low end? If so, I'm more than happy to pay the $50+ for them. 

They look nice but they do appear a little on the feminine side IMO, which isn't a bad thing but might make me self-conscious wearing them out in public. :)

HD-650 by a mile. To be honest, the AKG KXXX is so boring. I'd return mine in a second  if I could.    The HD-650 continues to be one of the best sounding headphones you can purchase for under $600.

I personally never could hear any difference between 320kbps and FLAC, which lines up with the numerous studies on the subject. Our ears aren't as capable as we'd like to think. 

I wonder what the cost breakdown would be on some established headphones like the HD650 or even M50x. 

  Yamaha must be coming out soon with a succesor or a slightly updated model of the MT220. I can't imagine they just discontinued it with no plans to replace it. 

I was able to pick up one of the last units that B&H Photo had for the $145 price as well. I am amazed at how good these headphones sound for their price range. No, they don't sound AS good as some of my other headphones (HE-560, Pandora Hope VI, Signature DJ)  but they are pretty damned closed...

How does B&H Photo have these for $100 less than anyone else?

  It is just a matter of time before we see a mass produced $4k sennheiser headphone. I'd say we see one within 3 or 4 years. 

Hmmm NoMax must be talking about a new Beyerdynamic flagship. That'd be nice. They haven't had much mindshare on this forum in a while. 

Please make your next headphones a closed back! I don't get to listen to music much at home with most of my music listening being at work so a great closed back would be much appreciated. :)

I am super excited for the flagship closed end coming from Sennheiser later this year. I am hoping for a home run. They picked the right market to go after, IMO..there is a serious lack of true high end closed back headphones.
