The trick of turning on the EQ for the line out worked! I just left all the settings at 0 - but it still worked. All my amps are buried behind back seats that do NOT fold down. It's annoying how buried and inaccessible everything in my install is.

I just did the replacement - seems to be working! The old battery was SO swelled that it had pushed up on the front of the unit so hard that it had an IMPRINT of the circuit board on it.... wow... I keep the unit in my car permanently hooked up as part of my car audio setup - so I didn't notice...

Hey guys, I JUST got an email for the thread about firmware 3.34b - but it looks like its been out since november!   Is this the most current firmware/beta still?   If the sound is as good as 3.21b and 2.14b - and gapless works fine - then the other features look GREAT!

With 3.21b - I tried Last Song AND Last Position - both failed.   With 3.22 - I have just tried Last Position - which worked about 60% of the time on 3.0 - and now only about 10% of the time.   Some people suggested that the way files are TAGGED can cause issues with this working.   But...

I get the desire to have a fully functional unit, including album art - but what an insanely low priority the art should be.   Staring at the same picture on a small 2" screen for an hour - compared to sound quality, and music playback / glitches.

Have you updated the media library?

That is so weird - my unit turns on fine when it is charging!   I use my X3 for car audio, and have it semi-fixed into my car with the RCA line out and USB mini charger always plugged in.   It's a Toyota, so when I turn on the car - power goes to the unit. When the battery is fully charged...

It almost makes MORE sense that way.... since there have been SO many bugs and glitches, it leads one to believe that someone doesn't QUITE know what they are doing.   E.g. - they didn't MEAN to mess up gapless playback in 3.21b but they did... that wasn't listed on the changelog - heh.... so...

Not yet..... that was just me using the next logical number in my hypothetical.

What I am getting at is that it would suck to fall in love with the sound of 3.21 and then have it change again when the issues with 3.21 are fixed - and then have to decide to choose between glitches or quality.

I am sticking with 3.0 for now BECAUSE 3.21 sounds so good. Reason? If they fix the issues in 3.22, but the sound quality is gone, I will feel like I lost something. But if I can move from 3.0 to 3.22 and notice no difference - but have the issues fixed, I will be happy.

The only major error that everyone seems to experience with 3.21b is the gapless issue. Would be nice to hear a response like: Fixing the gapless issue now, check back for 3.22b soon!
