IBasso Audio IT03
I appreciate the feedback. Buying from the website is inconvenient because I am in Europe so I have to deal with VAT when receiving the imported stuff which increases the cost quite a bit and tends to be annoying on a logistics point of view. I have read quite a bit about IT03 build quality not...- Apatride

IBasso Audio IT03
I am a bit confused. Is there a new version of the IT03? iBasso website lists then as "New" and it seems they are currently unavailable in Europe which could be a sign of a new version about to be available. I have no way to test them but based on what I have read, the IT03 or Fiio FH5 would...- Apatride

Wireless alternative to Beyerdynamic Custom Street?
I would recommend you check the B&W PX, I also recommend you stay away from the Sennheiser Momentum. You could also consider a USB and/or Bluetooth DAC and keep your wired headphones.- Apatride

Inline eq?
The app is going to impact active components. In Bluetooth, the headphones DAC is what converts the signal so the app will allow the EQ but if you use the headphones wired, then the DAC is the computer sound card so the EQ of the headphones DAC will be bypassed. The only option I can think of is...- Apatride

Inline eq?
The first question is to confirm what type of input/output your dispatch computer uses. Since you mention you have use a setup similar to V-Moda BoomPro into headphones, I am going to assume that you plug them into either a single 3.5mm jack that does everything or 2 3.5mm jacks, one for mic and...- Apatride

DAP for Tidal Offline

DAP for Tidal Offline
I have the issue on a Fiio X7 but it appears to be a rather widespread issue, especially with DAPs using older Android versions. If the DP is not affected by this issue, than it is good, but I think there was ground for concern. BTW, can you confirm you are talking based on experience of using...- Apatride

DAP for Tidal Offline
Unfortunately, internal memory is decreased quite a lot, which means you have to rely on sdcards, which often leads to the issue of Spotify or Tidal reverting to internal memory for offline storage on reboot (due to the fact that their handling processes start before the external sdcard is...- Apatride

Looking for DAP Capable of Streaming from Apple Music
I would get a phone. LG v30 or HTC10 are not too expensive anymore and have very decent DACs (my previous phone was the HTC10 and it is a very capable DAP). I do not have much experience with Android DAPs besides the Fiio X7 Gen 1 that I do not recommend at all because of software issues. I do...- Apatride

Looking for DAP Capable of Streaming from Apple Music
Apple Music implies iTunes and iTunes has always been "special", even more so on non Apple OS. You can add to this the fact that most (cheap) Android players use rather old/obsolete versions of Android and you have a recipe for disaster. If you want to stick to Apple Music, an iPhone or iPod...- Apatride

fiio portable amp for classical music
My E18 worked perfectly well with my DT880/600 as well. I'd say Fiio estimates are very conservative.- Apatride

fiio portable amp for classical music
Fiio rates the A1 as good enough up to 100 ohms and the A3 up to 150 ohms so both have plenty enough power for your 598s. I would probably get a Q1 DAC/AMP if I was in your position.- Apatride

New to Higher End Audio, Researching DAP + IEM Setup. Please Read.
You could get something like the Fiio E18 that doubles as a powerbank and allows you to charge your phone. It makes the "DAP" a bit bulky but phones have a much better OS than most DACs (and definitely much better than the obsolete Fiio Android versions) and offer much more flexibility...- Apatride

Should I get the FiiO x5 or x7?
I went from the bundled AM1 (incorrectly previously mentioned as AM0) to AM5 because I wanted something able to handle my DT880/600 easily. I do not have any experience with the AM2. If you play only offline music, I guess X5 or X7 would do, but even then, their UI and software in general are...- Apatride

Question about the FiiO E10K
It is actually normal behaviour: http://www.fiio.me/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=40352&extra= And no, not useless, just not adapted to what you want.- Apatride

Should I get the FiiO x5 or x7?
Am I correct assuming we are talking DAP (player) rather than DAC (converter)? If we are talking DACs, there are much better options, I would recommend the E18 over the X5 or X7 or maybe even the Q5 (I haven't tried the latter but on paper it is pretty good). If we are talking DAPs, then it...- Apatride

Usb Dac/Amp Max 100€
I see. In that case, if you absolutely need a USB DAC, then it might be worth getting something that isn't too bad and could still be useful in the future. Something like the FiiO BTR1K (60 euros) would work as a USB DAC for now, would still be 40 euros under max budget while sounding much...- Apatride

Usb Dac/Amp Max 100€
Well... A 10 euro DAC won't be an improvement over your onboard soundcard. I personally use a gaming headset for gaming (Logitech G930) and before I got decent speakers, I would use separate headphones for music. It might not be easy to do on a budget but I'd say a 10 euros DAC is wasted money...- Apatride

External Amp/soundcard for gaming
Unfortunately, positioning on stereo headphones is never going to be perfect. You might want to consider getting headphones that actually allow surround settings. They will not sound as great for music but should help for games.- Apatride

DAP for Tidal Offline
It appears that the issue is Tidal not supporting 3rd party apps for offline play. Possibly because offline playing requires some sort of encryption so the tracks become unusable once they are removed from Tidal or the subscription has expired and helping a third party achieve this could make it...- Apatride

Usb Dac/Amp Max 100€
Lots of options. The Sound Blaster E or XG series could be worth checking as well, the sound is decent for music and you even have some gimmicks to improve game sounds. I have the E5 (a bit over-budget but you might find it on sales) and I recommend it. Asus also has decent option but their...- Apatride

What you are describing sounds a lot like what I experienced when using a line-out instead of headphone out on a previous system. You might want to look into this.- Apatride

What combo with a senn PC363D for music listensing
Well, both are available in the link I provided so it should give you an idea of the differences, although it might be difficult to spot what makes the K702 unique when listening to a recording of it through some K702. But at least it will give you a relative idea of their sound signatures.- Apatride

Best passive noise isolating on ear/supraural closed back headphones under $50?
I allow you to call me names for suggesting something 3 times your budget but if you are looking for something that will stay on your head, can be used when it rains (and probably in the shower), isolates extremely well, can take a lot of abuse, and on top of this, sounds great for the price and...- Apatride
